The pain does not diminish
It does not ever go away
Injury to the heart has permanence
Rarely can it be healed
It's just like luggage
You carry the hurt
Around with your sorry ass
A heart that's been broken
Can never be fixed
Can never be fully healed
The scars just remain
Reminders of battles lost
With those that hate
Without a real reason
Takers who take your love
And spit it back in your face
Past appreciation replaced
Our history re-constructed
Such a different narrative
The truth is missing
Under this liars moon
There will be no sunshine
They will see to that
Despite twilight in years
They refuse to allow
Any chance of happiness
This done deliberately
No forgiveness considered
Despite past showers of love
No credit left in this account
One persons lies becomes truth
Resigned to have to die alone
It's what they want to happen
No forgiveness, no happiness
Their price is exacted without
Fear or favour; treated like
A man that doesn't matter
A street beggar  you can piss on
No love, no respect
Erased from your history books
Like a bad smell
This is what you wanted

Your exile  was required
By your own actions
By your own desires
And poor judgement
