Momma Why?
Momma Why...
How could you do it?
birth us into this existence
just to set us aside, dyin...'
We're broken, cryin'
"Momma Why?"
Never to be the same,
nothin' will ever fix us
knowin' we'd never choose this
leavin' us alone, locked in, hungry
n' dyin' for this life to quit...
Big sis, she's too frail to be of aid
as she n' the two of us slowly fade
mother why must you treat us this way? Momma why!? Why!!??
Time, has but one meaning
as we stagger together; alone
with the 4 walls n' our grievin'
barely hangin' on as we see
our big sister surely leavin...'
Momma why?! Why??
Our feeble attempts at survival
cursin' the felines next door
love's abundant for our rivals
We hurt so bad from our sores...
Fed up, fadin' out,
got no power
to fight or shout "Momma Why!!??"
Dear God, send help, we just watched our sister die...
Even if we make it out
we're ruined...
on an 'emotional
slab' toe tagged; her love
for us was a closed eye...
Oh fuck Momma Why!?

*this is actually based on a true
story in the news I watched yesterday. Couldn't shake it, it
disgusted n horrified me so badly
I had to write it out. I can only imagine those poor kids.
Not really sure if the other siblings were girls, boy n girl or what, but it was expressed the oldest (16) died of starvation,
locked in a piss n feces filled room, no beds, blankets or anything. The lady's Cats in the next room over were living in total comfort, beds, food, even a tv!!... That sick, miserable bitch...*

I agree H...that's the worst case of abuse I've ever heard... that 16 ur. Old was so messed up she was too scared to leave when she had the chance... I pray that woman gets exactly what she deserves...

Absolutely disgusting. I will never understand how a woman can birth a child and treat them so badly. A heart wrenching write on a terrible subject Poetikmind!

Thank you...yes, it is horrible n I wish I could've been the judge, I'd have sentenced her ass to a cell, no windows, no food, no water, no light, no comfort...

I wish more ppl would look harder at things instead of being apathetic or saying it's not my business. It IS all of our responsibility to protect the innocent and frail. This unfortunately is not that uncommon. It is the reality of too many that were never given a chance. It is truly heartbreaking and you gave this grave issue a voice. I commend you.

Like the others above, my first thought was lock her up and throw away the key. But, then I must ask myself not just what led to these actions, but also where were the people that should have known before hand of what was or could be going on. There must be some sort of sickness on the mother's part whether intentional or not that would cause her to do such a thing. There is a sickness within our society, and it is not going to go away on its own.
As Noncommital1 stated, our apathy in many cases like this is what leads to the end result.

I'm sure you're right...that there is something wrong inside that woman...
BUT, I find it very hard to feel for her...given one simple fact... it was stated in court...she showed love, n compassion for CATS...n none for her own blood...THATS for me unforgivable...thank u my sweetness for ur very thought filled comment n support always :)
