ANGER
Though it may evoke a response
pick wisely the path
for it never
won an argument
solved a problem
nor saved love

you are so wise beautiful Teri
it took me so many years
of letting my rage flow in argument
to know in the end it solved nothing
& just plain wasn't worth it..
beautiful lady you bloom truth..

Wise? I don't know, wiseass, I've been called more often. But, yes, like you, it took me a few years to learn this, although not by myself. By watching those I respected, it finally sank in. Yet still, at times I let things get to me before I have time to reflect on the importance of it,
The human aspect of life, for all of us are.
Great respect for you my Lady.
Teri

My love is dead and a response would be better than silence.
But I agree on principle. Well said!

I have seen you keep your anger in check within comments. You show respect even when dealing with someone who does not.
You are a shinning example of the gist of the poem.
Much thanks for your input JJ.

Yes indeed wise words Amorous.
Anger through frustration really
doesn't acheive anything of nothing
People should just relax & remember
why they are where they are in achievements before digging deep holes that don't need digging to start with
Many a stupid reaction killed many a moment

I fully agree. Many people make things worse just by the attitude they take when dealing with adversity and things go South from there. Better to take the high road in any situation.
Thanks Rose, your thoughts much appreciated.

Us not agree?
You having anger issues??
David, if I had endured everything you have had to, I'm not sure I could have faired nearly as well as you have.
You have my deepest respect. (but, if you tell anyone, I'll deny it just to have something to disagree on.)
Thank you my friend.

Very true if we've no control of it. But to play devils advocate- sometimes, it is invokes enough passion to take action (as in real injustices). I think it's more on how we act upon it. Still, thought provoking write, which I love:)

"I think it's more on how we act upon it"
The exact meaning within the poem. To channel the anger in a way that is non-combative or argumentative, then yes, anger that evokes a response it not wasted anger.

Wisdom is but a learned trait.
Some learn through observing
while others (like I) must do
the homework.

ANGER leads to hate leads to suffering
20th Dec 2017 11:42pm
I think some people are confusing passion for anger--I was. On first read I agreed with you on principle, but I thought of many exceptions: most notably a fight. After some contemplation, I realized that every exception was actually reactionary anger into something greater by combining the raw emotion with logic/foresight. Even when in a fist-fight, anger alone is not beneficial.

Your thought process serves you well. Anger is nothing more than an emotional reaction to a stimulate and it can only serve one well when channeled in a productive way.
