I feel every road in life has it's bumps and potholes and each in our own way will cross them, but when they jar us enough to realize our mistakes, we are better for the experience. This poem expresses this feeling in a most eloquent way.

"in the fields of wisdom          
i collected wildflowers          
with love i pressed them          
into the book of life" -pressing of a nature, hills of Italy sloping with olive trees in the east.building bouquet's,banquets for the eyes to eat          
           
"cherished memories          
from when i was betrothed            
to an ancient deity"-dreams of another life stabbing at me, veils of white ,woven in cobblestones and olive oil.they breathed light, lit the fire in the night.            
           
"he let me roam freely in his gardens          
& whispered secrets of the universe          
in my ears"- he told me of beauty, brushed my lips with his.told me of stars streaking across the sky, which ones her created for me,then built me eyes with Love to see.          
           
"gentle truths to guide my way          
as i made the journey to know him      
mortal to divinity"- he told me of walking through the infernal council, the marble columns coaxing to stay, how a cold catches better than jack frost, and barley making it out of the orchard without an apple to taste; the snake was the most cunning.    
           
"he fawned over me          
grooming me to be his own          
i lie at the reflective pools          
& saw my soul's beauty          
bright & shining" -we were free falling in each others eyes, he saw through to who i really was, the flow to the bees that buzz.taking me by the water splashed on lips to sip from.          
           
"in the love letters telling of him        
i revealed to the world my beloved      
who light my footsteps          
& opened my eyes          
that i may see          
the world that confounds me" -through postage perched like a bird singing from a willow branch,lit up the sky so we could dance,he held the fire from my eyes and turned them azure to assure there was still beauty in the world and that was me.    
           
"he made things clear          
with careful steps          
i followed him "- i followed suit to the German black forest, the fairy tales came to life, linking worlds.          
           
"slowing down my rushed pace          
so that i may know each person          
that crosses my path          
reaching many with the poetry          
he graced my mind with"- put a finger to my lips as to hush,friction ridges to taste and brought  words to life.          
           
"he has once again opened the door          
that my infidelity shut for a time          
& lets me wander the fields of wisdom"- the human side haunts me but he lets me wonder like a basket being whisked away, parchment poured over by a pen ink of disregard            
           
"each flower here          
blooms with knowledge          
& is pollinated with truth"- each poppy has the power to put us to sleep, slip us into a slumber for dreaming of shoes ,ships and sealing wax singing by the sea      
           
"with lessons learned          
& an illuminated mind          
i'm ready for the day          
i am to be his wife          
loved & adored"- i am yours and you are mine; let us break this dawn together
