50 Shades of Red
Red roses thrown into ember fires
Green thorns twist into bloodthirsty briars
With my heart ripped from my chest,
blood now mixes with the colors of my regrets.
I remember something someone once said
the colors of love ends in 50 shades of red.
Screaming gets louder, faces turn dark shades of pink
It's now become a bloodbath of words and i'm sure to sink
Why fill yourself with this envious shade of green?
How dare you not see the crimson color of my no longer beating heart?
I cannot get this thought out of my head,
but the colors of love end in 50 shades of red.
What is the color of the anger that swirls
in the pit of my stomach where it twists and twirls?
Is it another shade that has no name?
Why don't we call it sorrow or despair?
Black for the void of where my heart used to be
mixed with the darkest of reds that once pumped through me
