Looking at the crimson burning sky
I kiss the endless blue one last goodbye
These last futile moments just turn to vapour
The horizon cloudburst higher than a skyscraper

Static preludes the ending of dreams
Extinguished forever the laughter and screams
The endless rhetoric now submerged in silence
Washed away in one last burning wave of violence

The fire from the skies ended all debate
Proved decency could never overcome hate
Paid the highest price in one last fiery deluge
No one left to trade in the currency of subterfuge

Irrelevant now who was right or wrong
Fading out in our collective swan song
Know in my heart it never had to be this way
My sad last thought before my fragments float away

This is the fallout of everyone's dreams
Sharing irradiated ashes with dysfunctional regimes
Our fragile pale blue dot now poisoned shadow grey
The backdrop unrelenting darkness as it all just fades away
