the wild sunflower
when i'm feeling weary
in my mind's eye
i see the wild sunflower
it adorns the roadways
& grows in the most
uninhabitable conditions
they blossom & bloom
turning their faces skyward
in praise of the sun god
so it is with my soul
i let my cares go
raise my face
to its giving rays
as westerly winds
caress & muss up my hair
a wild child again
without a care
still in my innocence
i am transported
to carefree days
when i chased the moon
& captured stars in a jar
nothing was impossible
i'm weary tonight
i star gaze & see
the wild sunflower there
smiling back at me
waving her happy hello
to an Earth bound being
who longs for morning
so i can hear
their hum of music
at sunrise
delighted in the day
another day to shine
to remind me
the natural beauty we are

What a fantastically written poem of the ever beautiful sunflower. To become as one with this almost supernatural sunflower is indeed a grand way .. . Continue to search the stars.

One day we should walk in a field of daisies, making coronets for our hair of them, and lay beneath the blue sky and stare up at sunflowers sheltering us from the rays. This was stunning, my beautiful Dark Angel. You've written a masterpiece here.
So much love for you...

The sunflower is open to nature's gifts, never closing her petals to the sun. This is a refreshing, inspirational write on a hot day in L.A. Thank you Lady Crim!
