Liquid Blessings
salt on arms, licked softly
a taste of life
a nudge to a heart that's alive
moisture on upper lips
mud dried and cracked
as skin dead and peeled
by harsh sun-rays
un-shielded by kind clouds
prayers from parched lips
plucked heart strings
of the gods
and clouds cried
face towards the blessing
blooms, flowers, faunas
and mine
a hope of life
until the next cycle.

That first stanza reads like you were doing tequila shots with the Poem Worm!

I enjoy your usage of alliteration like where you say kind clouds, prayers of parched lips plucked, flowers, fauna. I have always been a fan of subtler syllabic connections. This is a lovely reverie and I also enjoy your metaphors such as the rain and the plucked heart strings of the gods. Well done. :)

The imagery is both harsh and yet soothing, Grace. I read a quote once about burning, and there being a reason for it. New growth is always beautiful afterwards. Lovely poem. Best of in the comp.
*licks the salt off my hand and takes a shot* (damn I forgot the lime).
Just kidding. Sake? 🍶

Not Sake either. :) Yes, when there is no rain it can be tough especially when one is a paddy planter (Ricer grower). One can starve, when the paddy don't do well. Thank you so much for reading me Ahavati.

Drops...sometimes we forget how to gauge the good ones from the bad, we learn hopefully and carry the positives with us and the negatives behind.
That salt sure is good at times...
Beautiful-Tender Write Dear Grace!!!
