Forever Missed

You're gone
And far,
far too soon

Every life has its ups
Its downs
It's a merry-go round

The pain of loved ones
Was a terror to witness
I didn't know you
Like I wish I did
But seeing those who were close
Still leaves me quivering
I thought a lot of you
The smile you'd give
To anyone in earshot

It reminds me that really
My own mortality bothers
Almost not at all
It is the mortality
Of those I love
That bothers me most.

R.I.P Uncle. The world is a little darker without you.
