Faint Scream

Why do you want to hold it?
It’s melting in the cauldron of bad ass hopes and dreams.
Now my branch is colder,
stiff back getting older than the oak from which I came.

What a lot of nonsense
Them dirty little monsters - shooting up sap and shitting in the drain.
Why not roll another
skunked up mother-fucker and take root through weeks and decades?

Oh! Looking out for angels.
Paint a future of danger and then slowly fan the flames.
Yeah - Course there’s a reason for all this blame and treason.
Looking out for something when it’s all about the trees.

Why do you think we hate you?
Your dark ivory tower - damn you and your power.
Now this country is broken.
Barking down blind alleys until you are a faint scream.
Faint scream. faint scream.

Yeah. Course there’s a reason for all this blame and treason.
Looking out for something when it’s all about the trees.
