Two Empty Chairs
standing on the shore
a sadness entered my heart
till I felt your spiritual hug
on the sand in our paradise
were two empty chairs where
beautiful sunsets we shared
an envelope was laid on one
my name written in purple ink
I picked it up and sat down
held it close to my heart for a bit
sat there in silence feeling you
looking at your empty chair
tears fell upon the note
while I opened it
smearing the vibrant ink
with it were your favorite poems
of mine you used to read out loud
would sit for hours in silence and listen
with your sultry voice
I could hear the oceans waves
rushing to the shore to kiss my toes
warm wind wrapping me in hugs
while taking a deep breath
smelling a cool gentle sea breeze
you brought them to life
made me feel so proud
encouraging words you always gave
simple graceful words you left for me
that will forever be imprinted on my heart
"Thank you for helping me feel life!"

The picture. The water. The two chairs . . . and
the words to this oh so beautiful poem, flower. I
read into the poem as a very nostalgic look back
to the joy the two lovers had. Sad, yes, but I feel
the happiness within her heart as she relived those
very intimate moments together. This is a class work,

those chairs are not empty you still sit side by side in smiles the poetry reverberates through your ears as sounds of waves bring tears we all know chairs we endear but do not fear the voice never dies we hear as always and tears fall from our eyes to wash our face here comes another one a smiley too from a guy you never ever knew a friend as always comes again

This write really hit home for me. To lose someone you loved, and still love, it is so hard to sit and remember all the good times being so close to the heart. Then realize he's gone, and only the settle things will bring a very small sense of comfort. With hopes for one day you will not have to be alone or without him another minute.
