Lost Prophet

This may be the last time I tune in,
There and back again,
Like Frodo and friends,
More like Alison in Wonderland,
Confused and misusing Tools
I didn’t understand and could not handle
Now told to be a man and set an example
Get a plan with a fam,
Work the land but not like that!
I got to think smarter,
Move past the traps in the path,
Bullshit never lasts but still it sells,
Some say the devil is alive and he’s well,
I know the mind worse torture than a cell,
People quick to be hated for just being themselves,
Why we are compelled to try and be anybody else?
Or is that just me?
I am yelling help!
I am not after pity - My city won’t miss me,
If you want me come get me!
Squeeze magazines empty,
No time for any empathy,
It’s ok… I get it,
Our roles are scripted,
We feel so different,
Ballistics easily cover the distance,
When words seem cryptic,
We feel committed to just be statistics,
I came up honestly and lost it often,
Like a lost prophet,
Lost in profit,
Forgotten promises,
Lost confidence,
Lost my ability to be modest,
Funny I would find my way back this August,
