the death of a poet
alcoholic haze left me brazen
cocaine, queen of the mountain
my pain the pleasure I reveled in
puking words on the page
my poetic vomit
something I took pride in
I'm in the death throes
weak tea with no punch
I like my liquor to burn just like my poetry
I'm pissing thoughts now
sober it fucking hurts
this is real talk
awakening scorching my new born eyes
with truths that are hard to swallow
I may die as a poet
without pain
what's the damn point
dead verse that has no sting

Such a dark...painful write.
Words that overflow from the core, and pour out of the soul.
"without pain
what's the damn point
dead verse that has no sting"
you are a Poet that can reflect both light and darkness. Your heart and soul lay bare. Your words are never just read...they are felt, and deeply.
That...is true beauty and life.
I am in total awe of your ink and skill, Sweet Brenda 💓

Please write, and let us all become drunk from your words. Maybe we don't need substance to feel, maybe we have become substance... and that's why we can't feel it.

There is beauty in everything. Took me a long time to figure that out. Still adjusting to it. More than that, there is beauty in you. It will find its outlet. :)

Eh . . . It isn't necessary to have a "sting"
with every poem. But even if you do, you
will soon see that you can have stings
writing as Brenda, not Crimsin. It's a
fact . . .

Yes; displace the pain into poetry
song, dance, painting.
Beautiful, Brenda. You are coming home
breaking barriers; it's wonderful to watch
all the energy sent forth on your behalf
manifest into such glory and grace.
Much love, Dearest One.

Re. the death of a poet
Painfully beautiful, I could feel every line... every emotion...
That's the power of a prodigious poem... so telling that the reader can feel it!
You're not 'dead', Crim, I think you are very much alive in this piece of ink, thanks for sharing! ♥

Brenda.... your love for poetry is overwhelming with this ink...a befitting 500th piece for it's powerful, brutal delivery..you may be missing the highs that made you aware of your talent..but it was yours and it's pieces like this which are self evident of this!

I think this painful interval will soon pass and you'll experience the pleasure of writing clean. Penning with a clear head has advantages especially if that head is yours Crim. You're a demonic angel whose talent will not be denied. I don't quite agree with the last stanza:
"without pain
what's the damn point
dead verse that has no sting"
Pain can be a driving force but pleasure has its inspirational moments, particularly if there's ecstasy involved. Extreme content comes in many forms. Your's are always exceptional Crim.

My Beautiful Brenda, if there is one thing I know, you always have a way of rising back up even from your darkest days...I know no stronger spirit and I can always count on that. Whatever path you travel, I will be there with you holding your hand and embracing you through night and day....
I love you very much

well poetry is life, and with life comes death sometimes, and other times our poetry becomes comatose, until it revives itself, within us. Heartbreaking, yet beautiful!

any and all kinds of poetry can indeed carry a sting and be based in power - there is every point in you carrying on as a poet because it is ckear that you are a wordsnith, a true poet. I have read your work for long enough to know that you will be a succesful writer no matter what genre you chose - that's how good I think you are :-)
Love and ehugs Brenda :-)
