The princess and the fool
These rocks are smooth
He recognized their every single move
The path he’s treading after
Filled with laughter
Nothing new
Insists it’s just a casual
Less than average afternoon
No trouble with his words
since he cast them at the moon
Completing lists of things
he’s been procrastinating…
Soon
But he’s smitten
And he’s with it
Always traveling toward
His doom
Her clocks...

Oceans
I never said my love was all that
Just all that I had knew
And if I fall again, I'd be a better man
And probably point that fall toward you
So let me feel all that I feel
And you can feel how you will
Cause though I want you next to me I know that can't be real
You've got my words flowing
So I jot them all down
But my emotions are oceans
For you how could I not drown
I don't expect you to believe
Every drop in my sea
In fact I think it'll leave you salty
Like, "Why'd you pour this for me?"

Yes, I'll be sad
When it's all said and done
When the feelings stay stirring
But the words have been spun
When I've said everything but the thing on the tip of my tongue
And I leave you back to the one who's the one
And yeah, I'll be hurt
But I won't let it show

I've seen you
I've seen you
Before
in the times
They tell as lore
We gathered crystals in the mists
To the rumble of dragons roars,
We've danced in ballrooms stolen
from Emirs, Czars, and Kings,
We were even peasants once
Real gritty ones too
And turned our noses up at gold things
Timeless in a lovely little forest
Filled with spiders web and gloom
I wrote you spells and incantations
And you sang them to the moon
Another moonless night
we both were thieves
In an Arabian cave
We were caught but we fought
And...

That book
An I ain't even like that book
Fuck that cover, that first page
Fuck that line that pulled me in
Made me grin and made me stay
Fuck that storyline
The one that weirdly mirrored mine
Fuck them words that made me
Want to hold it by the spine
And read, and read, and read
And trace my fingers across my favorite lines
Made me think of new things,
Countless times, and question myself
And made me never want to
Put it back on the shelf
Fuck feeling heaven in all the pages that I snagged for my wealth

Lips and curls and curves
and nose and clothes and smile
making me think them thinks again
the kind I ain't thought in a while
hands and nails and wrists and
ankles, feets, and legs
and things that I won't ask about
because I'd probably beg
forehead, face, and eyes that shine
shoulders, neck, and arms
picture perfect inside my mind

Lemmie know that your thinking of me
Trying to figure out what I'm thinking of and
Baby I'm not thinking love
So maybe I'm not the one you might think I was but

All I really know's we on the brink of us my
Heartbeat keeps leaping up
Forcing all these words up out my gut why

Playing with my heart like a tinker toy
Putting shit together pull apart destroy
You're showing me your plan and your grand design
And damn you're fine
But everything out your mouth is a damnded lie
Look ma'am you tried
But it's like I'm fighting every plan that you can devise
An I brought you a bottle of coke you went and called it two cans of sprite
And when you call me you just fantasize

I got a half-hearted poem in my full little heart
I’ve never been a half ass, so I’ll be damned if I’mma start
Half a love, half a fling, I’m never half of anything
I’ll try and write a whole song off half that melody you sing
