A Moment

The moon shone with magnolia skin
shadows against gate and fence
trees replicate on the ground
lake-black-glaze reflecting,
silent, deep, melancholic,
Fallen trees  a resting place
within the woodland edge
silhouettes and echoes of the day
fiill the air heavy with the breath
of slumbering fern an foraging mouse.
deep in the woodland heart.
