Waking

Tight closed at dawn's bright hour
soft green flesh and dewy sweet
waking to the warming light.
Bees, flies and sleepy badger
all combine to make dawn
a resurrection we can share,
free of steely moon and fox's cry,
Each day this beauty curled within
her calyx shroud waiting
morning-glory's prompt reply
 robin pecking at the window.
Bitter bud, soft and petal- pink.
Ottar of rose fills the air,
dusty pollen choking  lovers
in a knot of unbelief,
silk threads from the mulberry,
untying when the sun is high.
