Pathetic Musings at Two (in 2 parts)
Give it time
Watch the paint dry
Let the chips fall
And lie where they lie
The Autumn leaves
Crumble and fertilize
Everything has a season
And will eventually die
Except that immortal jellyfish
And some feuds between tribes
....................
And the lingering hope
That one day you'll be mine
And I hope you don't hate,
I hope you don't cry
As I hopelessly wait
And pathetically try
And act like a fool
Putting my heart on the line
Knowing that you
Probably just roll your eyes
And wish that I
Would just say goodbye
And finally get a clue
I may not even be on your mind
Watch the paint dry
Let the chips fall
And lie where they lie
The Autumn leaves
Crumble and fertilize
Everything has a season
And will eventually die
Except that immortal jellyfish
And some feuds between tribes
....................
And the lingering hope
That one day you'll be mine
And I hope you don't hate,
I hope you don't cry
As I hopelessly wait
And pathetically try
And act like a fool
Putting my heart on the line
Knowing that you
Probably just roll your eyes
And wish that I
Would just say goodbye
And finally get a clue
I may not even be on your mind
