Goodbye
you were never mine
I was just a passing fancy
knowing this still baring my heart
left with a dull ache
where your friendship used to be
having nothing in common
I realize I need to let go
of my feelings and fantasies
you are the object of desire for many
I fell in love with the way you write and look
though also the kindness you showed me
you are the depths I got lost in
though I've found my way to shore
saying goodbye
to someone I care for hurts
though my heart will heal
moving on knowing
it's been time for awhile
using you to replace my cocaine addiction
feeling a rush when you were near
I don't feel that anymore
feeling only raw hurt
setting you free
in my mind and soul
be well my friend

That's a sad goodbye, beautiful Crim, free from bitterness and blame.
"though I've found my way to shore
saying goodbye
to someone I care for hurts"
I think that pain will fade, with time. You may have set yourself free as well. Love this one Crim, as always.

Re. Goodbye
The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained. Crim, your goodbye was beautiful!
Your realization of letting go is the golden nugget. I wish you a sway in your hips while walking in your stilettos during your journey to healing.
.....time is the only elixir that can heal a broken heart, but a broken spirit takes great effort to mend. #Love&Light
"you are the depths I got lost in"<--- that line! Wowzer.... Xo

Well put. It is a common thread among poets that we feel deeply and in a perverse way this sets us up to sound out of our depth as we try to interpret and express our feelings. I have great love for you Crim, you have alot to give.

No such thing as a good bye 😓 Hearts heal but stay scarred or bruised or something like that. Good luck with moving on though 😀

Genius. These are the inks you are meant to pen. The raw emotion...vunerability and strength are amazingly conveyed.

Melancholia strikes. Using a poet in place of one's addiction...one wonders if the poet was even truly seen as a person, instead just an substitute addiction. Again humans torturing themselves needlessly but always makes for good poetry. *Shauna

this person was my friend years before my addiction.. then when I became addicted I deactivated my account and disappeared.. then upon getting clean I felt an intense need for this person after awhile I realized I was trying to fill my void with him.. though now better I realize he's moved on and I need to let go.. though he will always be a friend and important person to me.. thank you Shauna for leaving your thoughts on this sensitive write..

Always hard to let go Crim and maybe writing down a goodbye helps with that transition. Keep moving lovely lady, make wise choices. There is strength and acceptance in this touching piece. Well done. :) x

I felt this one, when it is someone that you once held in high regards and loved deeply, it hits different when you have to let them go...
