The last line is more than a person its also a place. Home where you go and never leave.:) Thanks for reading poetryman.

This is true, but the thing I thirst for in every poem is the emotional payoff. The desire for the one you live, to just be there is awesome, but even further, to be there in that moment with such beauty all around is a yearning I know so deeply in my heart that it brings back all of the moments in my life that I have felt that way. When someplace you go is so amazing that when you are there you want nothing more than to give it to someone special. There have been many times it made me cry because there was no one in my life to share it with. Other times there have been those I could only dream of sharing paradise with. When not just one thing or one person is enough because the combination of the two is nirvana, those are the moments that make life worth living, and so we wish for them with all our might...  

Yes, moments and places as well as someone to share them with. I have been there many times too. Breathlessly turning to share it with someone only to find 'cold emptiness'. Thanks for understanding that part.

I took the last line as a personal line. Wishing for someone, and wishing desperately. That's just me though. Liked the poem . . .

This is magic, Grace.  You make natural elements super.  I don't get a sense of desperation in the last stanza.  More like patience, seems to me.  There's longing, of course, but the beauty that surrounds you is a plus.
