The Discontinuous Marriage
As the pain within lingers in my heart,
I cry, cheeks undry, this pain is unbearable,
Oh god let it stop.
Two weeks of loneliness,
and the pain is still there..
It hurts within to know
that you do not care.
I curse this love from my fingertips,
and here drips these words from my lips:
I love you so, but you are not present.
For your mind has gone and you're most unpleasant.
Vacate this silver that is wrapped round my finger,
and place it in the pocket of the man that once lingered.
And pain remains but I'll cry no more,
So gather your lies and walk out of the door.
As I will no longer cope,
with the pain that you've caused,
as my small, weary heart,
is broken once again, after all.
A repeated circle of pain and doubt,
Are you deaf, my love?
Do you not hear me crying out?
That this love was ours but now it is not,
For our love has broken and you've won this foul shot
I'll wipe away my tears for the very last time,
and cradle our child and hum a haunting nursery rhyme,
And yet I know that the day will come,
when your heart will weep and depressed you'll become.
I may not be yours, but I do know this,
you shall not forget our first french kiss.
Upon the balcony where we caressed that night,
as the sun disappeared and came the moon light.
In which it cast out it's rays of peace and love,
and granted us proof of the life we dreamed of.
So do not forget for I am still here,
with your blood in my arms as she grows so endear.
Goodnight for now and good luck to you,
and have one last kiss to remind you.
I'm a mother but not a wife,
but that's alright with me,
for I can live with my Daughter alone,
A content life we foresee...
I cry, cheeks undry, this pain is unbearable,
Oh god let it stop.
