One More Before Dinner
Silence stirs
While
Churning verse,
Symphony of living.
Flow disturbed
By broken chords,
The rhyming faucet
Dripping.
Submerged in sound
The poet drowns,
Her rhythm fainting
Weaker.
A hunger groans
In drifting tones
The spigot spouting
Laughter.

I know your title speaks of dinner, but this took me back to a night of insomnia, much intensified by a leaky faucet drip. Great flow to this little piece. :) Enjoyed.

I totally agree with Shine_of_Darkness on this one. It definitely reminds me of my own personal insomnia and issues with crap plumbing. My faucet drips so constant and loud, it drives me mad...and my hunger even moreso. Though it's not one that generally causes a tummy rumble, but more of a lonely hunger of the heart.
