Riviera sundown

backwoods banjo bangin’ in my head
spent the night in a virgin’s bed
the moon shines misty on a lover’s lies
sweetest bluebells in her ‘hurt-me’ eyes
banshee winds, hear them wail & moan
broke her heart & left her all alone

rickety bridge, you got to take it slow
moody river ragin’ far below
blast the highway in the stormin’ rain
Buick’s engine roars away my pain
hard luck cowboy on a lonely ride
too many women stole away my pride

swap my meals for a jug of booze
droppin’ dimes on the jukebox blues
shaky visions of the great beyond
dirty dancin’ with a low-cut blonde
white line outlaw from a nowhere town
cage me up & let the sun go down
