No Longer

This isn’t filled with anger
This isn’t filled with tears
It’s really just a thanks
That I’ve come to see this year
For I couldn’t see tomorrow
I couldn’t hear today
But now I’ve got your worn-out memory
That’ll light and pave my way
From a past so surely rocky
And a calloused future ensues
A remembrance all too shaky
But for the best when you withdrew
Was a setting closed and wilted
And a struggle within myself
A quailing to be seen with showers
From my hearts familiar clout
Illuminating what resides inside
A disheveled blue of whelp
Concede to the better concealed
This drought I could not yield
A deal to feel as a heel
But to say it’s what I felt
Though still it wields a cringe
I know without a doubt
That I’m past that sorrow binge
It’s good to tout “I’m out”
And to bask within a grin
