Fragile
Sometimes the most delicate touch of water
A few drops from the neighbor's sprinkler
Just as the streetlights wink on
It does set off a cascade of thoughts
About how something as seemingly trivial
As perfectly ordinary as this confluence
Can be a source of lasting pleasure
The cynic in me insists in a whisper
"Enjoy it while you can, friend"
When who's to claim it need ever end
"Just hold that thought," as they say
It can be very fragile.

This happened to me yesterday evening. I still haven't stopped thinking about it, obviously. But when some small thing like this happens the timing can seem so magical that I wonder if there's more things in Heaven and Earth... You know how that goes. Thanks, Minerva.

Sir Crow,
I completely understand this feeling, sometimes out of the blue something seemingly small and insignificant happens but it leaves you with a sense of awe and gratitude, to be thankful for all we take for granted. So beautifully written my friend.

Lady Muse,
They can be like small miracles. You just have to know where to look sometimes. Thank you.

This feels delicate in all the most beautiful ways. Something with the way the rhythm combines with the sentiment and content makes me keep reading it over and over. Thank you for warming my mind on a chilly day.

Thank you, Katja. I really enjoyed your new poem "Whoever Said It Only Happened At Night Was Lying." You're quite a thinker.

It's one of those sensations we remember and revisit when near death, reappreciating life.
