The Beast
And yet the beast persists
Will not be appeased
Will not be distracted
It raises its head
Rapture for the child-woman
Her quick wit
Her grace
Her charm
Her worldly innocence
All unknowing
Or perhaps fully aware.
Will not be appeased
Will not be distracted
It raises its head
Rapture for the child-woman
Her quick wit
Her grace
Her charm
Her worldly innocence
All unknowing
Or perhaps fully aware.

Poem, leading to thoughts, like isn't there anything/anyone to protect her?.. And what are the reasons of her rapture, 'all unknowing', or 'fully aware'... Just to think about. Beautiful poem.

The rapture is on the part of the beast. He's entranced by the "child-woman" and doesn't know what to make of her mystery. She's ambiguous, a figure on the border of innocence and experience. She's a beautiful complexity. She isn't frightened, just eyes wide open. The beast is simply a beast, and he's in awe.

Thanks, Muse. Once your eyes are used to the darkness, what wonders to behold!

Touche. I love fully mature women. I was thinking in terms of evil perplexed by innocence, not really turned on. I didn't say anything about her sexuality, nor his. I'm glad you're coming back for more, but I hope you're not disturbed.

This feels like metal verse. Fascination with the unfamiliar I understand.
Brave write crowfly.
