What is the Airspeed Velocity of an Unexpected Frog Launch?
“If there was a new planet discovered, one that was twice the diameter and twice the mass of Earth, assuming that the escape velocity of Earth is 11 km/s; what is the escape velocity of the new planet?”
“I don’t know… why sit and fret for days over recurring nightmares of inverse square laws.." "I wonder who that frog is; it begs the question: if he had twice as much mass, and was twice as long as the unladen swallow in trying the same stunt as to the rolling rocket; would the escape velocity be the same, or would it be doubled?”
”What do you mean?”

In the escape velocity formula:
V=sqrt(2GM/r)
The doubled mass 2M
gets divided by a doubled radius 2r
the object doing the escaping
be it a space ship frog or doubled frog
or sparrow
whose mass or size aren't
mentioned in the escape velocity
formula
and so they too all face an 11km/second
velocity of escape
However the froggy in question
has escaped the velocity
You know what. :) That is such a funny little skit to go on. Someone could really think that through well enough and get the galloping coconuts involved and really have a hay day with it. Take the planet equation out of there completely(as to what there is above I mean) Rabbit, sure the frog can be doubled with a good enough imagination. Think of all that momentum in those little leg joints. Look at the power of a flea, as per relativity. That frog could be in outer space in no time. :) Rabbit, thank you so much for your comment.
