Plenty of blood for the bloodless

People say it's just a knife.
People say it's just a lighter.
It's not just a knife to me
And it's certainly not just a lighter.

A lighter is more than a piece of plastic and metal
Filled with lighter fluid.
It's used for more than just lighting candles
and lighting poisonous cigarettes.
You take that lighter
and flick your thumb over it oh so casually.
Just wait a few seconds until the flame is hot and dangerous
and press it to your arm.

It hurts so bad
But feels so good.
You can feel the burning all up your back
and down your spine.

A knife is used for more than cutting food.
It's used for more than opening packages.
What is it used for my friend?
Well in case you asked, it's for self harm.
It's more brutal than a lighter
but more available than a razor.
You take that knife and grip it in your hand
and take it down the length.

Going side to side does nothing.
It barely leaves a scar.
But if you take it down the street
You might just bleed it out.
It slices your veins like a rare steak
exactly like that, precisely.
So pick up a knife
But only if your brave.
And slit slit down the length
until it's hot with pain.

It hurts so bad
and feels so good.
just as the blood splatters on the floor.
Take it or leave it
that's how I put it.
Just don't cowar out once you pick it up.
