Gods Road Last

Fell asleep at the wheel and crashed.
Before the end of the dream that I woke.
A man come whispering.
He had a face of a demon.
And fire seared out of his mouth.
When he spoke.
He pulled my body from the wreckage.
Head first gently and slow.
As I glanced to the side.
There to my surprise.
I seen my body scattered in pieces.
Out over the road.
As we descended to his depths.
I could smell a stench of a smoke.
Filling my lungs.
As ten fallen angels gathered around.
To feast on my bones.
In hooded cloak.
And down from the heavens.
I seen a golden halo that arose.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
But it was the man upstairs.
Come to revoke what they had taken.
What he choose.
Amen .. oooh yeah.
And I never thought about the road I was on.
I took it all for granite.
And one day the wheel of life had been shattered upon.
And precious life is long, long, long.
It is gone.
Oooh.
And you may think your road is the best.
From point A to B.
Lightning fast.
But the road that you're on.
Intersects with the rest.
And in the end.
Shortcuts lead.
Back to Gods Road last.
Oh yeah.
