Stumbling

Twisting,
Turning,
Stumbling,
Silent grumbling,
How our paths weave,
Mistaken ways,
No need to bereave,
Keep plodding on to more days,
Looking forward hopefully,
While the past falls behind mournfully,
Sometimes we hold on dearly,
Which makes us not see clearly,
It leaves us blind,
Wandering into the future to find,
The  unknown with one eye closed up,
Always think of an empty cup,
Avoiding the light,
Keeping it away their sight,
Lost in the darkness,
Succumbing to madness,
Shunning hope,
Not allowing themselves to cope,
Talking themselves into feeling alone,
Slowly making the heart stone,
No longer needing a loving kiss,
Enticed by the embrace of the abyss.
