Lighted paths

Spun
in a circle under noonday sun
yellow meadowlark cries
as I wander calling
tumbled in colour
red, orange, green and brown
softened by salient fall

Dilated eyes peek lovingly upon the Iris
light cascades layers to a long path
kissed edges, drift in ease
a boat sails, slick mirror canopy
Mother Nature sighs
content
as a slow passage curves and bends

There on finite distant greens
betwixt valley combs and cottontail
plush comfort folds deep into the bosom
while gentle winds caress skin
blowing the hare swiftly to burrow
in gaze of the fawn, ever feasting
this, the giving meadow
