Lighted paths
Spun
in a circle under noonday sun
yellow meadowlark cries
as I wander calling
tumbled in colour
red, orange, green and brown
softened by salient fall
Dilated eyes peek lovingly upon the Iris
light cascades layers to a long path
kissed edges, drift in ease
a boat sails, slick mirror canopy
Mother Nature sighs
content
as a slow passage curves and bends
There on finite distant greens
betwixt valley combs and cottontail
plush comfort folds deep into the bosom
while gentle winds caress skin
blowing the hare swiftly to burrow
in gaze of the fawn, ever feasting
this, the giving meadow
in a circle under noonday sun
yellow meadowlark cries
as I wander calling
tumbled in colour
red, orange, green and brown
softened by salient fall
Dilated eyes peek lovingly upon the Iris
light cascades layers to a long path
kissed edges, drift in ease
a boat sails, slick mirror canopy
Mother Nature sighs
content
as a slow passage curves and bends
There on finite distant greens
betwixt valley combs and cottontail
plush comfort folds deep into the bosom
while gentle winds caress skin
blowing the hare swiftly to burrow
in gaze of the fawn, ever feasting
this, the giving meadow

What a beautiful write.
You demonstrate such talent with the placement of words, phrases, metaphors within the poem. It reminds me of a spider creating a beautiful web that catches the sun when dew drops on it.
A truly lovely read

Thank You so much Uma...yes I am a sucker for the Nature Writes...these are what I fall back on when story subjects don't enter the mind.
Indeed it's one of my pix...sometimes I grab from the net...but Nature Writes I tend to use my own...Glad You liked it :) -You're lucky there was no thumb shadow ;)

I could describe the music that this reminds me of but that seems too easy. I will say that I love the way you incorporate so much of the sensory world.

This is so relaxing to read Soul, as I imagined myself walking under the canopy of those trees, which looks so familiar! I love the way you take the lighting effects in your pics so seriously, not unless you did photoshop edits on some of them.
I enjoyed reading this while sipping my favorite morning brew. /EngrVV

Ahhhh glad You relaxed Sir...indeed such things are better felt in the morning or evening it seems:)
Indeed its a natural pic...when i try to wrangle photoshop and other things to transfer here...it fights me...odd...to a very extreme...i can photoshop and merge poem pics share them everywhere anywhere...and others can post my pic proper(here)
when i do it following the same steps...only the pic shows...no poem...very strange...technology and i have never had the best of relationships hahahaha
Thanks for coming by Sir!!!

Soothing language & atmosphere. I love nature poetry. When it's done well like this, it never gets old, even though a lot of poets (try to) write it. I love bird-watching & wildlife...it's a major hobby of mine, sometimes bordering on obsession. This reminds me of a long early Autumn hike, good for the lungs & the mind. I'm going to treat myself to another long hike tomorrow. It's the best time of the year for it. Lovely photo, as well. Much enjoyed, sir.

I've been livin' in the woods for years now. Got me a nice lil piece o' Appalachian mountainside. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I like to visit the city, & have good & bad memories of such, but I love the wilds. The woods, man. Never bland or repetitious to me. The wilderness is an endless inspiration...
