ABC poem- Skinwalker.

SkinWalker
A steady wind sweeps through the village
Beating of the drums filled the air
Crackles of the fire to be ooo’d and ahh'd at
Dancing around the fire to the beat of the drum
Even steady beats of the drums as of now
Flames tell a story, the story of their Ancestors
Great Grandmother translate the story
Hushing mothers quiet their children
Indianite child to be punished
Jealousy is the cause of this story
Knowing what will come at the end
“Loup-Garou” Great Grandmother says the creature’s name
Mimicking family member’s voice to catch their prey
Needing a skin of an animal of their choice
Only way of killing Loup-garou is by killing them in their human form
Performing a Ceremony to receive this curse
Quickly switching in between forms
Reversal of the good and bad
Slaying one of their family member to finish their ceremony
They cause great suffering and death to those who see their human form
Unexplained death all around
Verily the fire dies down.
Where all you see is Loup-Garou’s eyes burning like hot coals.
Xenophobia of these creatures
“Yee naaldooshii” Great Grandmother whispers as they circle their prey
Zestfulness as the the Loup-Garou attacks.
