Staying In Bed-

Awake,
wide awake,
twisted,
fabric wrapped
around my body
strangling me,
the fan humming
and the a/c
blowing,
I should have
slept naked,
I'd still be
asleep,
maybe, the
thought of
coffee makes me
smile,
I'm not ready to
get up yet,
but the coffee
isn't going to
brew itself,
then I realize today
is his birthday,
fifteen,
damn it went so
fast,
staying right in bed
is sounding a lot
better to me
