Letter to My Father
Father, why do I keep running from you?
It's life or death
And you've given me the choice to pick and choose.
I need pick the former
But I I keep choosing the latter
I want to win in life
And keep climbing up this invisible ladder
But you keep knocking me down
Causing me stumble
But I know it you discipling me
Trying keep me humble
So why do I keep running down this path?
I put me first when when it should you
Cause this road only will lead to a deadly aftermath
I want your love and your infinite wisdom
So that someday
I can dwell in your heavenly kingdom
I know that running from you will only lead to the grave.
Give me the strength to die now while I'm still alive
Instead of chasing money and worrying about how much I'll get paid.
Forgive me father because I know the answer
I need to die to my flesh and every day there after
So you can make me whole and get rid of this terminal cancer
It's life or death
And you've given me the choice to pick and choose.
I need pick the former
But I I keep choosing the latter
I want to win in life
And keep climbing up this invisible ladder
But you keep knocking me down
Causing me stumble
But I know it you discipling me
Trying keep me humble
So why do I keep running down this path?
I put me first when when it should you
Cause this road only will lead to a deadly aftermath
I want your love and your infinite wisdom
So that someday
I can dwell in your heavenly kingdom
I know that running from you will only lead to the grave.
Give me the strength to die now while I'm still alive
Instead of chasing money and worrying about how much I'll get paid.
Forgive me father because I know the answer
I need to die to my flesh and every day there after
So you can make me whole and get rid of this terminal cancer
