The DUP Massacre
we were all brought to the DUP mansion
but it wasn’t just any place
it was one where we played
as the Webmistress encouraged us
like she was Willy Wonka
and PoetSpeak said “let’s drink!”
heading to the dining room
Duende served us up something good
as we think “what a wonderful place”
the lights go out
Bluevelvete was dead
hit over the head with a candle stick
we wondered where the Webmistress went
could it be her who was the killer?
we went to the lounge to...

On Your Timeline
Have you ever thought of time
As being a line
Crossing dimensions
In our minds...
A push and pull
At first, a feeling
A feeling
Unfamiliar
Yet familiar at the same time?
Separate lines parallel
Glide closer
Ever closer
To the one
Drawing nearer
To the time that divides
Night from day
Hunter from prey
Joy from dismay
Cut a line in the sand
And take my hand
For I will stop you
Drowning -
Losing time
As being a line

DUP, Starsrite and me
Dear everyone
Before I start I would first like to express my great heartfelt sorrow at knowing that Deepundergroundpoetry is closing down. DUP had been a second home to me and to many poets like myself. I have met many friends, read some amazing words, poems and stories that touched my heart and made me the person who I am right now. But most of all I’m very grateful to the owners of DUP and everyone who has worked relentlessly to bring together such a great community of poets and writers under their wings. What's Left?
A simple smile taken for granted
Invisible to those watching everyday
A wicked seed that was planted
This ticking time-bomb doesn’t obey
Sinking deeper into this cruel abyss
Failed efforts define the next move
Hurting others while they reminisce
Arguing in the pocket of the groove
Outside the circle hope is lost
Empty gestures fall on deaf ears
How much lifeblood did it cost?
What’s left when the smoke clears?

She smelt like Summer '99
Braided hair, petals n' wine
Tango trees, the sun above
Misspent youth, our Summer of love
The days would last, chasing stars
Smiles and laughs, purple hearts
Baize lush fields, puffy clouds
Chirping crickets, sang out loud
Skinny dips, kissing stones
Strawberry lips, this our home
Love and wine, back in time
Back in the Summer of '99
Such sweet memories, being made
Flirts and glances, under shade
Moon bares witness, tender kiss

Sign off full stop
The final stage
Those dreams and ink
Down the page
Curtain drops
On precious memories
Whispers of things past
Wondering what will come to pass
With great hope of meeting once again
To love and encourage the writing power
Foregoing rhymes to copy addresses
Hooking our words to create a chain
-Shall not break
For the bond is to deep to deny

With respect to the webmiss here, since this site is closing down...
Many here are asking for direction to a new site. And/or asking where will so and so be posting, etc.
So, I propose that a consensus is taken, for those who want to stick together as DUPers, in a new site.
I nominate Starsrite. I haven't joined yet, but I will be. SamNash did a really great job creating it.
It's a well done site, and isnt so big that we will get lost in the masses like in Allpoetry and the like. And as a bonus, Adelphina will be joining Starsrite too! What!

Serpent's Bite
There is a path worn into the carpet
Slight discoloration after constant pacing
Pitch-black sky like a starless tarpit
War is raging with this demon I’m facing
He calls my bluff about fearing death
With insults meant as a means to kill me slow
Spit in his eye while holding my breath
Heat rapidly rises from the fires down below
Feeling cornered the anxiety builds
Lead with the jab to set up the right hook
Snipers hiding behind plastic shields
