The Voice Of Mother Earth
The sun shines when I'm happy
The moon glows when I'm calm,
The waves are strong when I'm sad,
Volcanoes erupt when I'm mad.
My voice is the wind,
heard throughout the land.
Liter and violence make me sick.
I have a fever warming things up.
I was kind enough to support life for you all,
Now please save me before I fall.

Whistle in the sky, dream carved in amethyst
Ephemeral hope
In the palm of a hand
Hope without end
I see a rope
Clenched in a fist.

Where did it come from,
before my own existence,
gender not withstanding.
The freshly minted self
defied carbon dating,
while shadows paced in circles,
recalling newborn legends
with old souls honing in on
piercing cry from birds of prey.
Rememb'ring times
desert seas alive with whales
became the cliffs of bone,
raised from trails of dust,
pulled down what was mine
carried me 'till the next chase
with nature's way, my DNA,
not the will of my pursuers,
their scratchings set in stele.
Unbowed, with instincts
through life's brief returns
to stalk the self-proclaimed.

Ok, I've never done a competition before, so I'm not sure if any of you can comment. I've read through the poems again, and there are a few that I feel deserve a star.
I am by no means a critic, my experience in writing is like 5/100 if you consider it from a Morrowind skill set perspective; not even a novice or minor skill.
So, I feel that this should be an open vote as there are a lot of you that have been here years and can critique and analyze. I just don't feel worthy to judge someone work when I consider them all great reads!
P.S: should I tell you all my top choices and let you decide from there? I realize there are a lot of reads and it takes a lot of time to critique them all
