SPIRITUAL SUNSET

The sky so blue yet the sunset Red
Fiery and passionate, vast, so widespread
The two cooperate and are so complete
They mix into purple like one heart beat
The power of red like an ardent flame
The somber blue, filled with love, yet tame
They come together, in a silent explosion
One torrid, purple, spiritual ocean
Such a wondrous panoramic scene
Peaceful, tranquil, so serene
This optical fusion, in a beautiful sky
A delightful feast to behold, for you and eye

I Wish You Are Here To Share This With Me Again

While the
sun sets, she
would still
be sitting alone
on that one beach and
missing her murdered
husband
with all of
her heart.

My painted sunsets

It never leaves a stain
 riveted, I stand amazed
to pour the day and make it whole
warm the easel`s creaking joints
short reflection and anoint

Captured in a snap, a glowing pass
through the lens, blinked photograph
the canvas with its gouache translates
10.000 mirrored panes, of cities scapes
a twined reflection in a lake
bathed acrid plains with withered stakes

Panorama cross a canvas stretched
the impressionist before it left
emotions torn, in it reflects
earth draws a kiss, with hand so deft,

and as I sketched each scene
but all I got was fragments seen
Its exibitions best of all
for mine was nowt but dorbs and scrawl

 Painted me in guilded hues
tilted shadow from my shoes
and the score of age it drew
in flattery, spings youth renewed

 Driven out all latent stress
anger, all that now, has passed
the inner glow, felt as it set
held the brush on my behalf

A conduit to inner peace
it painted me in bold relief

My thoughts, like Icarus will fly
as sunset bids the day goodbuy
spreads its fan as God commands
burnished flood as it uncloakes
my brush cant plug the dam

a picture formed from perfect strokes

Dumpster Fire

I chase it down the highway
every day, sunset
after sunset
as orange as the Nissan Rogue, I drive
as orange as the dumpster fires
I put out at work (daily)
leftover
from three supervisors ago.

The Devil, she was....
her embers still ignite
all these years later
and I catch them
and I stomp them out
and I really should let it go
(she-demon, wench...)
but I go chasing another sunset
as the day steps aside
making way for the next (one)
and the next fire
orange like the punk twin sister of red.

I haven't caught it yet--
a day-end highway sun-down
but I will
when self-satisfied that I won,
fixed all the (Queen Bee's) messes
made things right
doused all the flames...

Then the only burning thing left
will be
hell where that harpy is
the ball in the sky
sinking daily on the horizon
of the (private) beach I'll purchase
once I have the dream
of the winning Powerball numbers.

So ready for retirement
so many sunsets yet unseen
(so many grudges I still hold)
so many facepalms,
God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit
     are doing right now.

Sunset Orange Marmalade

Of sunset orange marmalade
confectionary sweet at twilight
of dusk glorious arcade
before bidding adieu
among the butterfly clover
scented by the wildwood glades
of fragrant fingers among the petals
in rendezvous of heather's hue
silhouetted  among the gospels
of sunset orange marmalade
and green tea leaves
