Anytime suspension
In that suspension the tick and tock the bodyclock
drifting heavy lidded, as the night decends
falling prone upon soft down
the busy day, away, and night throws 'or its smock
my mind in shutdown,
lifted high in cerebral pretense
Idyll's flash and fall just out of reach
brochures tempting with there glossy print
cosset of your wants, on warm summers breeze
that usherette, a first class seat befits
Exclusive spring and summers, winter sale
where in all, lie wants golden hope
landscape beauteous and with plenty, all regale
the humming bird its lullaby so close
Recline, with all your soul exposed
that chance, will gift a romance soon
dark stranger proffering a rose
where hope in bows, be all festooned
and wishes fall from heart, to lips
Crystal water lap on milk white sand
the hour glass of night grains creep
fantasy island comes in slumber land
perfections visions with the dawn will soon recede
For in these times the virus breeds
when family and friends, are all we seek
thwarted as it spectre spreads with ease
the missing kiss upon the cheek
no freedom from its vice like grip
Imprisoned in towers of uncertainty and doubt
each new dawn, it seems so counterfeit
the shadows flicker even when the sun is out
being's; ever falling into Hade's smoking pit
The shuffle of the food bank queue
downtrodden, downcast, the stark invisibility
and apathy like pangs of hunger grew
Asian Hornet that devoures all humanity
Like mummies wrapped in PPE
the sweat drips down, so hard to breathe
the tomb, the ward and beds like catacombs
see leering face of death, so near it looms
the greasy pole as further down you slip
A cast of Christopher Lee and Vincent price
the extras, all populus devoid of joy
the horror show, plays out before our eyes
a daydream, we all natures whipping boy
so clean and green and now contrite
replay forever, the scream its echo evermore

Garden of Disease
Dolls and ballet dancers
Children’s songs and primary colors
Everything under the sun
In the garden of disease
Once roses grew here
But leaves wilt
And fall to the Earth
Sullen, alone
Like me
The thorn in my planter’s thumb
She was the only one
For me
Candice, my Candice
Come home please
Children’s songs and primary colors
Everything under the sun
In the garden of disease

And fall to the Earth
Sullen, alone
Like me
The thorn in my planter’s thumb
She was the only one

A Brave Wind Blowing In
Things are going to change for me
I can feel it
The phone’s going to ring
Winter into Spring
Things are looking up for me
I can feel it
My thoughts were once unkind
Perhaps she’ll change her mind
Echo, little echo
Reminds me that I’m not alone
Can you see on my face
Is it clear to you
That I miss someone
I can feel it
The phone’s going to ring
Winter into Spring
Things are looking up for me
I can feel it
My thoughts were once unkind
Perhaps she’ll change her mind
Echo, little echo
Reminds me that I’m not alone
Can you see on my face
Is it clear to you

The Charmers of Hupomeno
Mankind and his ambition
Might have thought
To take slowly from the pile
But he seems to heave and throw
Eager to watch it burn
Eyeing the cinder
The ember his eye
Puff and pride swelling his chest
What destruction
And brought tempest
The storm placed
And mankind grins
Believing it echoed a rain dance
Barking snake oil
To crowds huddled
Shaking hands
To chuck the bottle
They lick their lips of its placebo
And stoke the fire
With sticks of ivory
Boned charcoal
And remnants of nature
And its source
The tapping of singed fingers
Plays a tune
To impromptu a soft shoe
Buffaloes time step
And the cake walk shows white teeth
Bared and dinged
And shuf shuf shuffles off
Mankind and his cane
To beat the rock
With the bones of holy ancestry
They drink
But cannot further the tribe
Dancing does nothing for distance
Endurance withers
In the heat furnaced and fueled
Mankind procreated
Whip in hand and behind her like a dog
He has raised a son
And named him Meribah
The Great Entertainer
Watch him twirl the torches
Gasp as they burn
The soul at siege
Will rush the plank
Will caress the sky from falling
Will scald his flesh
To prevent the stage on fire
But dismantle it piece by piece
And find a fortress in his stronghold
The temple of man
Made of skin
And three rings announce a master of ceremonies
He is loathe to crack the lions
But had intended them lambs
Might have thought
To take slowly from the pile
But he seems to heave and throw
Eager to watch it burn
Eyeing the cinder
The ember his eye

Rooftop Dreams and Such
Atop my wooden roof, deep reflections ensue
My parents raised a mischievous little one
Only bats and a navy sky to observe
Just a couple stars waving their halo
Branch silhouettes to start my emotional unfolding
How they crawl to the planets
Even the dead ones do
Who’s to say
My brokenness can’t climb with them too?
Wispy clouds above, just like the smoke I used to watch from cigarette butts
They don’t pollute the air above
Or fill my lungs with blackened ash
But contrary to old habits
The clouds don’t last
Slowly then, I watch them pass
Music in my ears, transform a silent dusk
Into a symphony of beauty
Enhancing the life around
And as it stops
I hear those critters sing
As if they’re making up for my soundless listening
As I finish my final thoughts
And prepare my period dot
I must add that the sky has lost its blue
Come to think of it, I like the darkness too.

Dream of a (Perfect) Future
I dreamed about you and me getting back
Together, but this time it was perfect. I did
Not tell you, fearing it can get me off track
Again and lose focus on the now. I got rid
Of the notion that everything can ever be
And will be perfect again like it was when
We began. I dreamed of walking to the sea
As I see you standing there with a big grin
And smile just for me as the gentle motion
Of the waves was the only sound I heard
As my heart feels calm. You are the lotion
To soothe wounds that hurt and the words
That no longer stung. I dreamed of our future
Children who are born into this world and
The love shines from their souls with fewer
Hate. I dreamed of me holding your hand
And of a love that was so similar to what
My parents have every day, but no one
Could replicate. I dreamed of us shutting
Out the hate that overshadows the sun
We grasped in between our fingertips.
I dreamed of us surviving the apocalypse.

Deja vu
I’m stuck in a perpetuating time zone full of my doubts.
Having this feeling as if, once I get one foot out,
I’m rushed back to the start,
To continue climbing my way back to the top.
I’m stuck in a perpetuating time zone full of my doubts.
Scratching and claw at an exit with no way out.
Trying to keep back screams and tears from following me.
Just to found out i’m back in the place I don’t want to be.
I’m stuck in a perpetuating time zone full of my doubts.
Hoping this will be the day I finally breakout.
Hoping....no, wanting to see the light that comes after.
Wanting to end this cursed loop and start a new chapter.
But I trip and fall, the pages turn and I end up be back in the first caption.
I’m stuck in a perpetuating time zone full of my doubts.
Knowing, that one day i’ll make it out in the end and be able to stand again,
But until then the only thing in my view is a sense of deja vu.

A night time disturbance
The sirens made me look
another boy, a runner
from the borstal fences
lit up like thirty foot tennis courts,
knee deep in mud by now.
They'll catch him
they all ways do,
he'll be back in church
on Sunday with a smirk
and a smokey eyed pose
for the confirmation girls,
their innocence
lap dancing over his
dangerous, laid back torso.
The colliery lights distract me
from the chase,
they frame the concrete
office blocks
like a dystopian novel.
A tale of tunnels beneath the house.
A mile down,
mutant workers bred underground
with diamond tipped fingers
designed for cutting coal.
The helicopter has switched
to infra red,
a Martian tripod, wars with
his world as the spot light
tracks him down.
It won't be long now before
he's back playing tennis
on his own.
With that thought I get back in bed
and dream him into our kitchen,
follow his muddy boot prints
across the tiled floor and up to
our bedroom.

Stigmatism in the third eye
Whereas mind and body to walk into mist
Drop of wisdom seeds a tree of understanding
As battles of the gods in heaven will insist
Our chaotic waters mingle into a time unending
-
So sauntering essence upon expectations
Forming a stopgap soul by letting verses hinder
Flow in a psyche ocean sailing intentions
As mystic speaking into our tongues to render
