Stranger things

I’ve never thought of saying thank you to the one who made this journey possible, that first stranger who kissed me upon my arrival,

Even when darkness hovered around me, this stranger’s shield gave me the confidence I needed to navigate into light,

To d very one who created a covering for me before I knew how, I have never known a perfect moment to share my gratitude with those who care and dare to use words edify those who deserve the accolades of thanks.

To you who went all out expanding your skin to a life time scare; yet at my arrival you held me like fragile glass and showered me affection without knowing what will become of me.

Thank you from d depth of my heart.

To Thank Her (no matter who hears)

There are not enough ways to
thank her, as my sisters and I
lost our mother,
though it is not she who is lost.

It has been ten days ago
as of this morning, very early,
just as the rain
showed its cold monotone.

It comes, grieving, freeing me
to rise up,
to celebrate our mother.

To shower the firmament
ev’rywhere she saw & walk’d;
I now can say
no matter who might hear:

Bless my soul, Mother,
have you taken a moment to
gaze upon yourself

in your new raiments of
restoration, in preparation
for the journey
that has awaited you?

How does it feel at last
to shuck off heavy burdens,
layer upon layer?

The pall of dementia
coveting o’er, like barnacles,
of everything
you were about & loved for.

You were being trapped
in a mollusk husk; you’d say:
”If I ever get that way,
just shoot me!”

She was a nurse
with a particular calling in
the hospital nurse’ries.

Mom was a blessing to
babies she helped bring into
the world, and loved the
babies she herself had had.

Mother, I thank you, for,
despite your many busy rolls,
all of them were never easy.

You put your growing family’s
welfare above all else.
As a mom, you were a queen.

We are the jewels in our
mother’s crown;
named after precious stones.

Always referring to us,
to anyone she’d meet, as
“My three girls”;
creating us, one at a time.

Looking down upon each,
swaddled in the
warmth of her life-giving flesh,

our fresh faces, cleaned of
filmy birth, of each feature,
fold and quivering curve.

She smiled at each
uniqueness of her feat, and
deemed,
by the tug for her milk,

first one then another,
till Lord, if she wasn’t
well pleased!

Thank You, Brad Dourif!

The road of life, a bumpy, gravel road,
Sometimes self guidence just isn't enough,
Introvert, ADHD, overload,
Poetic anxieties, a bleed-through....
Until three years ago, I found you, Brad,
I began the journey to my best self,
And since then, you've been my knight, ironclad,
You're my courage to be true to myself.
I met you once, last year, you were so kind,
Your words were so inspiring, thank you,
You've brought my third eye out from being blind,
The best human in existance is you.
I hope we run into eachother again,
My composure, I will have to maintain.

Missing you, is something I often do,
I so wish to know more about your mind,
I thank you for everything that you do,
Your beautifully crafted, kind, soul and mind.
Every thought that I feel you think of me,
They do fill me with determination
To come out of my shell, and to be me,
My rehabilitation, salvation,
Of my soul, my heart, and of my courage.
I do everything for me, therefore you,
Over others, I have an advantage,
Might be cheating, with my incentive, you.
Feeling that meeting you is my godsend,
I hope you can at least call me your friend.
