Bleed

A parchment and a quill
is all I ever seek
to craft a tapestry
of emotional streak

People may call me a freak-
writing and erasing
what I dream, what I mean-
lost in futile chasing

Madness mystifying
as night spreads in the sky;
pen running on blank page
as wild feelings soar high

It's my laughter and cry
that echoes on crisp sheets;
senseless verses naked
as my heart and soul bleeds

Family

I find myself
Looking for inspiration
For my entry today
I cannot think
Of what to write
I had a busy day

I woke up late
To a gray morning
Today was my niece's
Moving up
From kindergarten

I and my husband
Went to the next town
To attend the celebration
We had lunch and dinner
With my brother and his family
I also met relatives
That I do not see often
And had some catching up

Celebration like this
Is one of the ways
To keep our connections
With family
And strengthen our ties
To one another

A breaded red cabbage

"Dad, grab a car -
a cab -
a red cab!"
Dad grabbed a red cab;
raced afar;
a bad, drab cafe (feared area!)

Bearded Dad dared,
"Cabbage! Carb!
A breaded cabbage.
A breaded red cabbage -
a fadge.
Add a carafe; decaf!"

Aged, eager badger acceded.

Dad raged,
"Bad bread!
Regard degraded cabbage!"
Begged a free feed.

Badger gabbed,
"barefaced greed!"

Dad badgered,
"A free feed! Fab!"

Farce!

Badger fed Dad:
beef (rare),
egg (rarer),
crab (dead),
a breaded red cabbage;
a decaf carafe...
free!

Dad graded cafe: Grade A!

Dad bragged.

Dad gagged.

Dad barfed.

The toll.

I pause ,
Now home.
Above,
An unprecedented sun,
Has steeped the day,
In swathes of,
Unrelenting,
Ultraviolet rays.
And I've meandered,
From the start,
Towards the close of ways.
In a semiconcused haze,
A stitched together forgetfulness,
Tainted by,
Regretfulness.
Wary, worn and slightly bleary,
Over warm and stumbling over words,
Seemingly to far worn,
And I,
To far gone,
To find a way to peal them back.
So leave them as they rang,
Black backed,
And bound in contrast.

Bird Battle

Four western scrub jays
Versus two crows
Numbers against size
For control

Detection
Protection
Defense
Against
Perched and swooping in

Must be a nest near
Nestled in its camouflage
Nowhere that I can peer
Safety from sabotage

A rain of blossoms falling
As each little branch wobbles
Hopping from each limb
In angry squabbles

Untouched
Yet enough
To fly away

~"a die-hard supernaturalistic love... this is", a lyrical

my sizzling young angelic beauty..
am just a flaming spirit orbiting you ..
vanished are those tears of love
..without you, am nothing…this now

(refrain)

my sizzling young angelic beauty..
am just a flaming spirit orbiting you ..
vanished are those tears of love
..without you, am nothing…this now

1.

poolside flowers bloom in my name
how can you my floral breeze…ever
forget this forever waiting me..

all over the riverine saintly mounds
& those amorphous sandy shores.. I draw
the embedded designs of our times of a past
yet now, am in search of you my divine jasmine..

a test of love is this... load my
tortured eyes  in needling pain

a wilting skylark I become..
mourns in a million modal
lamenting ballads. in tearing
sadness of your absence

my sizzling young angelic beauty..
am just a flaming spirit orbiting you ..
vanished are those tears of love
..without you, am nothing…this now

2.

in my still wet maggoty frothing
an  unresolved shaded greyly grave..
how can just another man be conning me.
…to be sleeping dead, blinding you?

Is this a terrible twisting
an octopussy tentacled
my ill-fated destiny.. or
a tricky targeted blackly
enshrouding  in an ambush, a
tainting sabotage plotting?

my love my belongingness..
you seem to be a dried out
holy Kaveri now.. how can
you ever hate your own
this beloved~ bonded spirited form,
this thickly following.. an essentially
condensing me in your aura?

a pitch dark magnetic.. Amavasya
no-mooning night this is .. profusely
salt-pitted & pooling in n-folds-  these
tears half-rolling half-settling crusted
as gritty petite piercing grains of pain
erupting anaemic eyes & eroding
their hope-laden bloody red heme

..in this looming in mysterious
darkness night..will you be my
lighted lamp of a  refuge, my love

am a date that is just exhausting ,..
am just a breed born to mere tears

..you are my better half that I fuse

my sizzling young angelic beauty..
am just a flaming spirit orbiting you ..
vanished are those tears of love
..without you, am nothing…this now

..without you, am nothing…this now

..without you, am nothing…this now

The Humble

Hearing you sing made my heart swell
Is this what’s meant hearing angels?

You graced the world with your sweet voice and left it a far better place.

Only mortals let life’s intrusions disrupt  their happiness. You’d laugh at the folly.

Secretly I aspired to acquire a fraction of your ability to love with abandon.

Failing miserably I humbly followed your lead hoping you’d see my attempt.

You always did and showed it with a kiss that meant more than gold.

Indigestion encore

Roiling and toiling
feeling in the stomach
of gurgling and grumbling
funnelled upwards to the throat
where it tunnel forwards
past the cheeks
and through the open mouth
echoing in the cavern
making a bullroar of an uproar,
less a frog in the throat,
and more a toad trampling on the tongue
which can only be shooed
after repeated burps
tinged in sourness
leaving a bad grey taste in the mouth.

The Legend of The Sunbather

She looks so regal
Sitting there in the middle of the room with the sun shining on her
With her six-toed paws flat on the floor in front of her
White and gray fur freshly manicured and puffed out
Mewing very politely for her dinner to be served two hours early
A few minutes go by and she realizes this tactic has stalled
She commences phase two
Purring up a storm and rubbing excessively all round
My legs are pushed with affection but I know it’s just a ploy
She's wearing me down
Her meows grow more desperate as if she hasn’t eaten in days
My resolve is slipping but my boyfriend caves first
He stands and grabs her food dish

A Hum and a Dance

Here and now is all we have, no matter what haunts us.
Will the day fade away, as we sit and count our losses?
Will the air become heavy with this stuck energy,
That we refuse to move, because we don’t know
How to breathe?

When will we become restless of these old patterns?

Have you begun to google “What really matters?”

Somatics or sorrow, sometimes hand in hand.

Maybe all we need is a hum and a dance.

lemonade sautoir

Hidden under her scarf,
slips up through her fingers,
her only heirloom, neck-laced
so tantalizing, jewelled and blushed,
As a flying rose, essentilally
so bottled-up,
that she could sell
   to fund her travels.

To Iranian markets, unalone
in a wise summer trawl.
 Where her lens will steam-up,
from the coffee-cup haze
   in Tabas's Qahve Khaneh.

And her carnelian aura
will brighten the corners
of the mashrabiya
In her room

In Bloom

fuchsia roses dot the bushes
little green bullbs, ripe to bursting
the glorious sunrise greets me
in my child’s pose, arms outstretched
I breathe in peace and tranquility
pause, appreciate the body’s ability;
I breathe out stress and anxiety
calm, my mind centers, grounded
my focus belongs to me
and I, to it, as if whole, finally;
pause, appreciate the body’s surrender
breathe in the sacred incense
and bless the divine feminine
within me, as I inhale hope and promise,
and exhale pain and sorrow, then rise;
my sun salutation meets the dawn
with courage and gratitude

[NaPoWriMo - 2025 Collection] Flowers from Thoughts

[ . . . ]

I. The Greeks

[ . . . ]

viii

”AI, AI”:
                          Hyacinth

Six-petaled pods, clustered
lavender fronds, arched
   back, curled to reveal
purple seams, seemingly
   harmless in appearance

Their beauty deceives
    withholds poisonous bulbs
     of acidic oxalic, in wait
for a devious opportunity
     as the wind god, Zephyrus

Who, rejected in love
   bid his time, watched
  in jealous rage, the discus
game his obsession and Apollo
   played, until the chance

presented itself, blowing the saucer
off course, killing Hyacinthus
with a hit to the head
Whereas Apollo, bereaved
transformed him into a hyacinth

that he might eternally live

A Woman Sits in Her Bed Designing Star Systems and Wonders How She Got It All So Wrong

I place each one into the central spot,
performing hasty revolutions to keep
this system in its designated space,
for all of time immemorial.

The only galaxy that’s held in place
by a single gravitational pull.

My sun, they shift and move when they decide
and I am left to readjust the force
it takes to keep the rest of them from falling
through the wormhole just a system over.

We’re the only galaxy that’s held in place
by a single gravitational pull.

But if they slip and slide outside my orbit,
do I really hold this galaxy?
Or do they only use my free intertia
when they can’t find it in another planet?

The only galaxy that’s held in place
by a single gravitational pull.

DON’T SLEEP ON IT

Stop taxing income
Start taxing wealth
Cuz earning and spending
Is good for our health
But sitting on hordes
Ain’t helping no one
Theft of the commons
Is really not fun
And that is the thing
That it always is
Don’t act like stealing
Is simply good biz
With all working hard
But only some paid
I gotta question
This bed that we made
