Beer or Alcohol Senryu/Haiku

poet Anonymous

Poetry Contest

Write a senryu/haiku poem based on beer or alcohol
Write a senryu/haiku poem about beer or alcohol.  It can be about the aesthetics of the involvement in lifestyle in general, simply about pouring up a drink, perhaps celebratory tradition or experience involving alcohol, or about inebriation and/or intoxication.  You can also write on the topic of alcoholism/addiction.  It must be 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the 2nd line, and 5 syllables in the 3rd line.  Here is a simple example:

Over-Flowing:

Another cold beer
Pouring inside of the glass
Cascade outwardly

This poem could be taken as pouring up a literal glass of beer, and the carbonation overflowing to the outside of the glass.  If you examine the particular language, it could also be about how emotion flows when drinking, in an "outward cascade", like opening up, and talking, and being inebriated, etc.  Idk, maybe it could be worded better, but I think this suffices as an example.

Try to be creative and capture the essence of alcoholic consumption in a well-spirited manner.  Perhaps an ode to drinking with friends, or even a battle with addiction.  Limit one entry per person.

He saw Kate's dress sliding off.
Josh woke up naked.

The Monks Honey Mead

Golden nectar flows,
sacred honey, vats of sun,
blessed in barrels deep.

Echoed praise dance halls
in quietness, we wait for grace,
mead poured like pure sunshine.

Brewed like prayer in cup,
ancient hands the humble craft,
joy steeped in amber rain.

The Alcoholic

Drunk on swollen pride,
ego sips lies, one by one
glass half-full of self.
