Poetry Contest Description
Valentines Day is coming, and everyone has a special love or crush or someone special. So now time to write a love letter or note to that someone. Could be a friend or family. In this competition, I want to see something challenging.
Write a love letter in medieval style form. Anything is good poetry or not. It can be a Romeo and Juliet love but make it romantic or a dark romance but make it very inviting to read. How will your heart reach out through a letter, through words, through the heart. In a time where no technology existed. So modern that love was very bold but formidable to reach. Masquerade your love for this is the time to go back in time and express thy love for someone. To be or not to be, that is the question....
All have 5 times to write a love letter. Best wishes to all. .

Castle of thorns
I climb thy walls made of thorns
to get to the chalice of love borne
the pain and aches it may bring
will be worth it to hear heavenly angels sing
but alas I have reached your climax
to find I have nary a moment to relax
before thy trophy like lips devour mine
as you enter this contract so devine
to get to the chalice of love borne
the pain and aches it may bring
will be worth it to hear heavenly angels sing
but alas I have reached your climax
to find I have nary a moment to relax
before thy trophy like lips devour mine
as you enter this contract so devine

The Love I Seek
- The Love I Seek -
Why dost thou hide from my sight, oh love?
Devotedly I seek thee, my thoughts so bright.
But thou art not in the azure skies far above,
Nor there, amidst the million stars of night!
But I seek thee, and I am here to be sought…
My heart is here, and my spirit is as a dove.
Hast thou not glimpsed my deepest thought?
I send it forth, and in hope my prayer strove.
The songbirds of spring, they echo my hope,
That my girlish heart shall be beloved soon…
By one who knows of warm passion’s scope!
Shall we dance ere long, beneath the moon?
Love need not be high upon a difficult slope,
For I am here to be found: if thou art sincere.
Let us scale the heavens, without any rope…
On wings of happiness, leaving a joyful tear.
Of that which I seek, I sing this song so fair,
In hopes: that my soul’s mate might listen…
I dance in the twilight, the moon in my hair.
Whilst above, the celestial lights do glisten!
Love is a quest, a treasure beyond compare,
And I am the princess who seeks it eternal…
I am here waiting, my deepest heart to share.
Love is a flame, hot, but not quite infernal!

Dear Ajay, so I decided to ask my child, and she said 5 times as it is because she says that she has 5 times to pass a test so 5 times chance is given to love for someone. I do love that idea and do grant that 5 access opportunity. Hope this helps.... Sincerely Nancy poetess....

Old Love Letter
My Dearest Love,
I miss thee, my love with every passing day. Myn herte is in the webbe of longing and yearning for thy sweete presence. I yearne for thy gentle hands and embrace oh so warmly. Thine hands touch and kisses fair, are dug and planted as dragon seeds within me, to grow, nay, to burste into mine beating herte.
The skies abovee is devoid of colours, my love for without thee my world is graye, devoid of breath or air, of which I could breathe and inhale thy scent.
Away from thy presence, for thou art in this quest so far, from thee each moments passeth as an eternitye, thus I count the houres that thou returneth and the world turn again.
The paine of separation sought me in myne dreams. My herte beats as I heare thy voice, and I see thee walking in the soft glowe of moonlight.
It soothes myn restless soule, I am left with naught by thy memorye and of thy tender kisses.
My love remaineth unwavering and steadfast, as the tides ebb and flow and as the sunne riseth and setteth.
I holde thee close and carrye thy love within the depths of myn soule.
Thine,
Grace

Mrs Shakespeare, gripes
' Your pen has admirable addictions '
writes Will's goodwife ' for a batchelorship,
you clutch tight, employment's invitation,
me? Mere kitchenwenched to your brats, gossiped
By fly-bitten lewdsters, my name besmirched
in Shottery, birthplace of Susanna,
you may mind, when we were but six month wed!
I've tried honeytonguing you and pander
But, still inlawed here, cramped, far from homely.
I've eyed a house in Chapel Street, Stratford
with roadways to lead to Academe,
the twins, 'fore their squabbling has me hell-born.
Come Will let us not be at loggerheads
But, hie ye home to test our brand new bed...

My purest love, I long for thee
with all my heart and soul.
Thou art the fairest of the fair.
The brightest of the whole...
No other man can match thy grace
thy handsomeness and thy wit.
Thou art the sun that lights my day
and so the moon that guides my night.
My dearest one, I swear to thee
by all the saints in heavens above
that I'll always cherish thee
and honor thee with love.
No other man can take thy place
for thy virtue and thy brave.
Thou art the star that guides my way
the shield that keeps me safe.
My dearest love, I beg of thee
to grant me this one boon.
That I may see thy lovely face
and kiss thy mouth very soon.
I pray that thou wilt be my groom
and share with me thy dream.
For I would be thy faithful horseman
and thou wouldst be my dear husband.
with all my heart and soul.
Thou art the fairest of the fair.
The brightest of the whole...
No other man can match thy grace
thy handsomeness and thy wit.
Thou art the sun that lights my day
and so the moon that guides my night.

For She Who Knows
To glimpse such beauty traps the heart sublime
For to gaze upon thee is truly bliss
Ever echoed across the sands of time
Pandora fades to beauty such as this
Your lips the hue of roses and as soft
To kiss them would I gladly pay in death
For I know my spirit would fly aloft
Upon the sweet sigh of that final breath
To thee my dear a heart forever bound
I cast myself upon the stones of love
To shatter fear that it be never found
Floating on love's wings as we rise above
Our destinies forever intertwined
There is no greater love that I shall find
For to gaze upon thee is truly bliss
Ever echoed across the sands of time
Pandora fades to beauty such as this
Your lips the hue of roses and as soft
To kiss them would I gladly pay in death
For I know my spirit would fly aloft
Upon the sweet sigh of that final breath
To thee my dear a heart forever bound
I cast myself upon the stones of love
To shatter fear that it be never found
Floating on love's wings as we rise above
Our destinies forever intertwined
There is no greater love that I shall find
