Dream dance a Drowning

Dance my dream where passion draws
harmony within the languid waves
graceful in my deep slumber
lithesome in my bid to wakefulness
there within the blueness
I pirouette in liquid abandon

I heed no dance of life
no passion to breathe
above the blue liquid ceiling
to dance on blazing prairie fire
or burn the twilight sky
with willful carnal desire

I descend to sand and corals
on the blue deep kingdom
the sunken city of Lemuria
busy in its daily chores
Inhabitants cleaning sands of debris
from bubbled and domed enclaves

Here I know no pain
but live a life, to laugh and love
be alive and well in dreams
be it more joyous than above
or less coloured in wistful wishes
death had sealed and forgotten me-

Slicing Tears

Through murkey mental waters, she wades
Wishing its water to drain, the memory fades
Moving, deeper in she goes
What lay in wait, no one knows

Tired, so very tired of swimming
She stops to rest, her mind is dimming
No longer swimming, now she's floating
Drifting amidst her thoughts, no noting

The girl awakened it, as it seems
The thing that sleeps beneath the sea of dreams
Somethings off, a change in the tides
She's swam too long, it no longer hides

Torrent waves come crashing down
Pulled down by thoughts, beginning to drown
Down, down, listening to silent sea sounds
She startles awake, her mind and body rebounds

Hot tears stream down her face
They cut so deep, and remain in place
A memorial blade of the memory played
Hidden she kept it, and the price she paid

Drowning

Woe unto me
For love beckoned
But I was a fool
And since, in self-pity
I wallow and drool.

Drowning (222)

I travelled on a ferry from England to Nowray once
I was a drinker then and a fellow was pleased to offer me many drinks
As I did not have a cabin, I slept on a deck chair

In the morning I woke up, amazed that I had not fallen overboard
Ending up being food for the fish.

Black Water

Fierce clouds sweep over sky
Cold heavy rain
On a warm summers night
Grains of sand cradle my feet
The infinite depths
Beckon me
Distant light flickers
As roars echo in
Summoning sounds of crumpled tin
Steadily I step
As the current holds no sway
The deep and I are comrades
At least for today
Black water rips
Wearing only a grin
Indignant dark waves
Collide with my skin
My fathomless friend
So unknown
The deeper I go
The more I feel at home

Drowning in Full Rhymes

*

On being tempest tossed upon a dream,
my feet from off a tiptoe giddy tripped
to tumble into billows gold agleam
ere slowly unto depthless sands they slipped;
where scattered round the continental slope,
arose a frightful wrack of half-rhymes drowned
with heaps of every sort of sunken trope
mid peakèd piles of slime-wooed puns profound;
some bawdy wordplays deep enmired in muck
inestimable gems unvalued stones;
some priceless ice in dead men's sockets stuck
as if to mock the rhymesters' fish-picked bones;
so surfaced I in one quick flutter kick --
my feet sans any bones with fish to pick.

Eve

Little lights came on
one by one
in the Rosh Hashana dusk
like temple fires throughout the city.

Pinpricks among the night urchins
on sidewalks--
I am coming-- wait for me!

The eternal stoplight
red, too long
or maybe long enough
to make me look up from my idling car
to see the Hasidic People
in their warmly lit room
bowing and praying with an intensity
that made me want to cry out

How beautiful a sight, to drown in!

I am yours
I am your Eve, taken from a rib
near your heart
and I will be blessed
when you surround me like a flood
and I swim among your flesh and spirit.

I am almost there--
and I see you, waiting for me
ready to jump
into the blind unknown
of all possibilities.

We've found the place
where waters run deep
and lines blur
between the start of you
and the end of me.

I am home...
night fully falls
and it is just us
as the world fades out
and emotion takes over.

LIFE PRESERVER

Drowning in the depths of responsibilities
This is the feeling of caregivers just like me
Providing for family, friends, and many others
Is exhausting and taxing is what you'll discover

Desiring to go undercover just to get respite
Cause many of days we can't find any of it
Hit with excrement morning, noon and night
Makes you discontent and wanting to take flight

But the might of your love keeps those gloves up
Even when you're pouring from an empty cup
Like buttercups sucking it up during stormy weather
The rain obtained during reigns will make us stronger

I'm drowning

It is raining dreams..
and there are ponds of sleep..
I was standing on the shore,
now I am drowning like a stone...

The outside world
is drowning in sunlight...
my heart is drowning in fish bubbles..

I had faith in the surging waves,
now I am sliding like sand in dark depth…

I used to fly like a white butterfly
in the moonlight,
now I'm frozen like a dried drop...

The sun and the romantic dusk
have set up their camp
till now I was floating
on the petals of flowers
now I am drowning
in the veins of thorny branches…

In the light of my pendant
I was searching for the ways of life
now I am drowning in the eyes of my reflection...
