(NoPoo 284) Hidden Door

Another day
Where you consume
My very existence
Contemplating how many stars
Reside deep in your eyes

Love has slipped
Through the keyhole
Of my hidden door
Releasing secrets
Of this beating heart

somewhere along the highway

i saw that mark

a cross
and a taped off
bouquet
hung
not far from it

when the rubber
hits the road
it's often more
than just
the rubber
that hits the road

some roads
never end

trinity of thoughts

ˇ.
your touch
reminds me
every day
a lifetime
is w a y
too short

to have
those hands
cherish of my skin.

ˇˇ.
I still close my eyes
to build
sweet
anticipation
of

every
single

tender stroke

...

then
a bite,
of that bottom lip
[my utter kryptonite]
just enough
to know...

you love it

ˇˇˇ.
*
I wrote about how
left the small note
tucked away
in your things
(you seemed to overlook)
days and days
passed

until—

one morning
I awoke
all shuddering smiles
understanding
my mistake

of presuming

knowing
this day
was fulfillment

of dreams.

(NoPoo 286) Thoughts Rarely Silenced

desolate feelings
darkness of a troubled mind
thoughts spinning around
cold whisperings echoing on
where rarely silence happens

a poem from the graveyard

bare trees
bear witness

the silence and
the punctuations of
the wind

the dancing poppies
and
the stern mushrooms stalks

the dead silent ones
are silent
except in their epitaphs

mid-day sun
and even the graves
stop casting shadows

visit.
breathe.
leave.

till...

you are muse
ethereal
in connection

I often
welcone
your intrusion

vivid images
of you whisoering
poetry to the stars

those same ones
i gaze and wonder
If your whuspers are mine

an ocean
between us
yet you still caress

its too much
to be unrequitted
i know you listens

need tou to trust
whats in your
heart
about my sincerity

of love
I have
All

for you

Old Conversations

Its cold here and the mirror crack'd
its not as cold as your winter tho'
the water still flows at the creek
even when its snow so hard

it will be autumn soon
your trees will turn colour
I like to walk the woods
when the leaves turn yellow

there's a tea garden here
way up in the mountains
I love tea of all flavours
but I love coffee more

I'm so sorry how can this happen
you can't be, please say its not so
it was just floating there somewhere
I am so sorry to upset you

there's a bridge
over a shallow river
where lovers meet
in the middle and embrace.

To be as lucky as I...

His name is Sailor
Part Doberman part Rottweiler
Fully my doggo BFF
(One of two...)
My "Dynamic Dobie Duo"
Eight years of unconditional love
Doggy sleep overs, dog park visits,
walks, cuddles
and standing in for....
permanent mom and dad
when travel or work called them away
Starting off as a pet sitter
and ending with a bond beyond all bonds
As strong as if they /he were my own.
He knew me by name
Would whine and whimper,
if he was asked if I was coming or on my way
Loved belly rubs and hidden treats
buried in his healthy food
(which he wouldn't eat without the treat)
Loved to hide in the bushes to poop
So very modest and quirky
A personality that cracked me up
Afraid of tennis balls (?!?)
Stubborn but so so incredibly sweet
Scary when he barked
Which totally hid the fact
he was pure marshmallow

Today,
He is gone...
and my heart is broken into a million pieces.
I know this is an inevitable conclusion
with shorter doggo lifespans
I KNOW this, going into it...
yet, it's never any easier.
Especially this time
With THIS, pup.
He takes a huge piece
of my heart and soul with him
We two kindred stubborn spirits....

MY laugh is quieted and my tears flow freely ....

Here's to you, my sweet 'Scooter'
Thank you for sharing your time on this planet- showing me how unconditional love can make you a much much better person..... Our bond remains—

Always

Safe travels—sweet boy. 🌈
