Hepcat61 said:Morning Tiger

On highest flat of mesa’s steppe,
The rest of life still dark below,
I find her there like sunrise born.

A golden sparked obsidian,
With slink like waves in new green sky,
Her merest strut sets me ablaze.

In three-point stance, she takes her state,
Surveys her land ‘fore gains her rest.
I find my spot in new day’s light.

Her gaze then comes to rest on me.
I see her smile from distance set,
Like sun itself had burned my heart.

She raises song that calls for me,
And I sing back that she might hear
And carry me with her to bed.

JusTim_ said:I Do Not Love You Like The Crescent Moon

I do not love you like the crescent moon
majestically erupting into a star filled night
nor do I love you like the pearl painted swan
gliding effortlessly across a pristine pond

Fear not for I do most certainly love you -

But my love is more like a cool crisp apple
one succulent bite bringing sustenance to life
My love lives in our fresh laundered linens
dried in the comforting winds blowing off the sea

My love is here
My love is now
It is in everything I touch
It is in everything I Do

I may not love you like the luster melting hearts
glistening off a ten carat diamond ring
but you can be sure my love lives daily
in my every breath and my every dream

LONDON-POETS said:Sure Feels Like Love

I don't know what love's supposed to feel like,
But boy do I feel it when I'm round you.
It's not like we have much in common it's true,
Like words, art and music or poetry too!
But the thing is, you understand me,
And put me at ease every time we speak.
More and more you're the one that I seek.

You're very mature for you age it's true,
While growing up fast has taken its toll.
For a girl who once lived on the wild side,
On the edge of the breadline, living it rough,
You sure carry a caring soul.

So why's it so easy to write about you?
Because you light up my life whenever I do.
For us it's easy because we understand,
Strength and weakness go hand in hand.
We know what pisses the other one off,
As I have found out to my cost!

Yet still I find you totally amazing!
And love the way you return to me,
Time and time and time again,
Through all the ups and the downs.
And there'll be times when you may fail,
Though I wouldn't call it failure as such,
More a stepping stone to a better place.

You've always been there to pick up the pieces,
Picking me up when I fell to the floor.
When everyone else had shut the door,
You were the one to show me more.
And another thing I really like about you,
Apart from the sweetness, your loyalty too.
But more over and before I forget,
What I'm basically trying to say is...

She’s God

I the morning I awoke to find God sleeping next to me
She is my confessor
My lover
My second mother
Most important,
She is my friend
She is perfection
I could lie here all morning watching my sleeping Goddess
But time to awake her for worship

"A Lover's Kiss"

A lover's kiss
Forever may it stay upon my lips.
A sweet reminder - a bid farewell
A lover's kiss.
Remembering, inspiring, gratifying, embracing
A lover's kiss.
The unspoken 'I love you'
Respect, understanding, love make the cup runneth over.
A child, a daughter, a girlfriend missed
Her smile and laugh, never shall they cease
A lover's kiss.
For an eternity let it live in all our hearts.
A lover's kiss
Forever may it stay upon my lips.

"Pain and Torture"

This torture and pain I know I must endure,
Though I assure you it is not easy.
My feelings I have admitted in truth,
Confessed for I respect you nonetheless
But nonetheless the pain and torture
Of knowing the love of yours I will not hold
Is agony unto mine own mind and heart.
I am ready to treat you to the world,
But I know it is not only you,
The world I would have to treat to
For your love is devoted to a daughter as beautiful as you
This pain and torture is the fault of timing alone – nothing more.
Truly there is no greater pain than
Living with feelings of someone you cannot have.
But this pain and torture I shall endure for it is a friend you say you need.
I do not expect you to wait, and neither will I
But know that I will be here for you night and day.

"Leave Me Breathless"

I wish I was with you, beside you, holding onto touch your baby soft skin
I wish I was with you, gazing into your hypnotic eyes losing my mind
I was I was with you, close to you, kissing you, with you leaving me breathless

Though our time together may be filled with ups and downs, turmoil abound
There is no other place I would rather be then beside you tonight,
No other feeling then the warmth of you in my arms
No other dream I would rather dream then one with you –
Dancing breathlessly, effortlessly, beautifully, perfectly in time.

I wish I was with you, beside you, holding on to touch your baby soft skin
I wish I was with you, gazing into your hypnotic eyes losing my mind
I wish I was with you, close to you kissing you, with you leaving me breathless.

Though there is distance between us now, isolating me from your side, alone
There is no distance I would drive or walk to dry tears that you may cry
No other torture then seeing you broken or cracked
No other nightmare I could fathom then one without you –
Fighting a battle big or small alone, scared, outnumbered, outmatched.

I wish I was with you, beside you, holding on to touch you
I wish I was with you, gazing into your hypnotic eyes losing my mind
I wish I was with you, close to you kissing you, with you leaving me breathless.

This day is yours to own from the break of dawn, onto the darkening night
So dance and celebrate the night away – effortlessly, beautifully, breathlessly in time
I will see you again soon, until then always remember you leave me breathless
Forever more goodnight and happy birthday my angel love.

The meaning in life

She told me she dreamed in poetry for me
she didn't tell me she dreamed of her future with me
She told me I underestimated
How many nights of never ending cuddles
And loving back rubs after hard days at work
And countless greasy take away dinners
Would blossom from the bed we first shared together

She never told me
That I would pour my naked soul into her waiting hands for her to hold like a figment of heaven
To caress and kiss, nurture and treasure
Then place back inside my shell again
bursting with light it had never known before

She told me of the stories
That would echo off the walls of any room we shared and so they did
but she never told me the greatest story I would ever hear
the one that was told in just four syllables slipped so softly from her lips
They dropped
And fell into my waiting parched ears
I under stand

She understands me
Down to my bones
Without looking she knows what rests inside my eyes
But I need a mirror

She understands that I can't talk about the dreams I have because I'm too scared of introducing them into reality
She understands that since she was introduced into my world it has become a new place

One filled with endless new possibilities
Because she is there to hold my hopes and throw them to the sky to fly free where they belong instead of in the coop of my pessimism where I held them caged for lifetime
Upon lifetime

She is there to convince me when I can't convince myself that I deserve to be loved
She is there to look into my eyes when I can't face myself and tell me in a voice dripping with earnest care that the face I'm too afraid to show the world is a face the
world is a darker place for not knowing

She is there

To smile on bad days
and to tell me to make my own damn tea and make her a cup too while I'm at it
But that's only on the good days

She is there

Always
Full of love
Encouragement
And a mirror that either shows me the man I always strived to be or the man I never dreamed I could be

She stands holding it out for me to see
telling me how to stand so I can be the truest reflection of a celestial me
One who knows without doubt his calling
one who lives and loves without doubt
Who never gives his fear a darkened heart or closed mind in which to thrive
One who knows what it means to be truly one

And I know it seems that this is poem is simply about me
That's because in every way I care to count, she is the better of me
Especially In understanding

So when she sees the way my eyes see her
She remembers again what it truly means to be her
The axis of the earth
The purity of rain
The promise of rebirth

She is better than I at understanding
So when she can't remember
I promise to show her true worth
Love, life and happiness
not just existence
While my lips remember the shape of loving words
and while my eyes still remember the warmth of hers

That is what I will give her

Dinner and a movie

that's the way to romance a girl right?
Dinner and a movie
we tried
Found a place
Cosy, warm and soft
with the inside lit up
like the memory of a childhood home

and cushions
cushions soft enough to be called the bosom of heaven
just begging for me to lay my head down and lose all thoughts of anything but her
losing myself in the rich tones of her voice
as if it were an ancient city and each word she whispered shyly into my ear were an old bazaar
filled with long lost treasures and unfulfilled dreams
all mine for the price of a flaw or an insecurity shared

She didn't even want to keep one
she just wanted to see my hurts
to caress them in her soft, sweet hands and soothe away their rough edges with gentle touches and soft lips
a dream for a flaw
that's all she asked of me
she never said a word
but that's all she asked of me
with those eyes of hers
the ones that scream and shout
that plead and beg
tease and pout
better than any word ever could
Dinner and a movie, right?
such a simple plan
and I still couldn't get it right

Dinner went well
full of love cooked with different flavours than any I've ever tasted before
and shy glances that I've never given before
but then
before I even had a chance to smoothly suggest a romantic movie

she saw the moon in pain
stooped low and covered in blood
stuck writhing in the sky on the tip of a skyscrapers needle
and while we chased the moon the city blurred
our words slurred and our eyes spurred new life into words we'd spoken so many times before but never truly understood
we never said them
those newly truly discovered words
there was no need

the city spoke them for us
In the warmth of the fog that wrapped us in its cradling arms
and the river that sang us lullabies as we kissed
with the bridge that swayed and sang beneath us
It wrote three words a million different ways
and screamed them into the juncture of our glances

So loud that I didn't remember until I was almost home
the plan was dinner and watching a romantic movie
not stumbling on the bones of making our own one

(I wrote this on the first page of a notebook I gave to my girlfriend to write her poems in, so it's untitled)

Sometimes, love
we spend so much time
thinking
and writing
about the things that made us sad
the times that cut us deeply
the salted words
that brand themselves within our minds

that we forget to appreciate
things that make us smile
the shoulders soaked with our tears
and the hands that cup safety
in the tiny space between them

so, honey eyes
write of anything that makes you happy
and when you forget how to feel that way
read
smile
and live vicariously
through this book of honeyed words
that you filled to carry with you
to remember

the sweetness of life

Apartment 777

2 am, I arise from my bed in
search of something satisfying
No, I don't want food, I want
something a little more tasty

I walk over to my window and
stare down at the vagrants roaming
the streets like rats. Oh wait, I think
I found my red light special after all

He's tall and pale like a fresh corpse
Shoulders broad with hair dark as
tar. I fantasized about the possibilities
and then he was on the move

I moved quick as lightning to my closet
picking out my Gucci leather jeans and
my skull printed sheer tank. Oh yeah
he will definitely like this

Down the stairs I ran and headed to
the parking deck where my new bike was
waiting. the blue paint against my skin was
electric and so I went forth to find my meal

After creeping through the blocks being sure
to keep out of sight, he finally stopped in this
small bar. I've never been the type to hunt but
I made an exception for this one

I parked my bike and followed him inside ignoring
the eyes on me as I proceeded to the bar.
I remember walking passed him and catching the
scent of his shirt. Ralph Lauren Polo. Good taste.

As I took my seat at the bar, I turned towards him and
our eyes met. I gave a small smile and watched as his
eyes became entranced with mine. This is the part I love
I ordered a White Russian, his eyes were still on me

I heard the sounds of metal crooning out of the speakers
above my head and I felt the urge to dance. But I didn't move
I turned back to see him once more, but he was gone. I
scanned the room but he was a ghost

My heart sank a little and I decided to just head back
to my cold bed and just deal with my hunger
I exited the bar walking to my ride, then I looked up
and there he was leaning against it grinning

I grinned back and proceeded to mount my bike
He climbed on making himself very comfortable with
his hands snaking their way around my waist after
exploring my thighs. I had to get him home fast

I sped back to my apartment building and pulled him
in the elevator and hit lucky number 7.
I wasted no time letting my hands feel his chest and
his back. Temptation drove me more than anything

I was ready and willing to do whatever it took to
keep him warm, but it didn't take much
We reached my floor and headed to my apartment
I unlocked the door with a quickness and pulled him inside

Slamming the door shut he immediately picked me up
in his arms and tossed me on the bed. Maybe I had picked
the right one. Dominant, strong, and reckless. Oh yeah,
I was going to enjoy this

Hands, teeth, mixed limps are like
flashes to my dazed eyes
I remember wanting for it to last but then
my eyes opened and saw him putting on his jeans

Guess he has the same rules I do.
No names, no questions, and no feelings.
I watch him head to the door then he stops
He turns and tells me his name is Ryan

Wow, maybe this is an exception to the rules
I smile and tell him I go by V and he grins then leaves
I get up from the mangled sheets and walk over the
window, but I catch something out the corner of my eye

He wrote his phone number in the condensation
I grin and look down on the bright lights and
watch the city breathe in its' patrons and all I
can think about is how lucky I might be

But who knows, I could just be that one woman
who gets lucky every week, day, month, year.
But every and anything can happen in
apartment 777. Come up and see me some time

Tethered

My lover I adore you
Without you I would perish
Always my beloved
A heart I simply cherish

As tears betray my eyes
You hold on to my hand
Breathing me to life
When I can hardly stand

Knowing me profoundly
Words need not convey
Always right beside me
Linked in every way

Blessed by your presence
Your devotion, unmatched
Unwavering affection
Forever are we attached

I am tethered to your essence
Providing me with grace
Inhaling with your touch
My soul in your embrace

A Life Without You

A life without you
Would be no life at all
No-one to catch me
If by chance I should fall

A readily available friendly ear
That always gives good advice
Your typical Cancerian traits
Always add a touch of spice

I’m a stereotypical Gemini
With a typical butterfly mind
Go on, admit it, it’s true
I won't think you’re being unkind

Putting up with my ever-changing moods
You must have the patience of a saint
You are always very tolerant
And I never hear one complaint

We can have a difference of opinion
But always try to see each others point of view
I often think I’m in the right
And often so do you

You are my reason for living
The ray of sunshine that brightens my day
You’ve got a permanent place in my heart
What more is there to say?

Dearest Heart

- Dearest Heart -

Oh, my dearest heart, twin to my soul,
I love you with the utmost of my being.
Both with passion beyond all control…
And with a heart beyond mortal seeing!
With everything I am and all I ever was,
I love you, and am yours for all of time.
And I shall love you ever, without pause,
Until the stars become far less sublime…
Than the magic of our fair beating hearts.
Even galaxies beyond all mortal counting,
Have less of our true enchantment’s arts.
All universes are in our love, abounding!

I long to hear your heartbeat as we lie…
Wrapped in each other’s arms, at night!
I long to kiss you, until it makes us sigh,
Until we are lost: in every sort of delight.
To hear you whisper my name lovingly…
As I rest my head upon your bare chest,
That is like unto earthly paradise, to me.
You are the heaven that I long for best…
And I am the angel who, is home at last,
At your side, where I forever belonged!
Soon, you will part from a haunted past.
Your future with me will be, like a song!

We shall sing brightly, in our happiness…
And the good spirits will all sing with us.
I will attire myself in most splendid dress,
And give myself to you in a lover’s trust.
The summer birds shall sing in their joys!
But we two lovebirds will have our own.
Free of hatred and sorrow that destroys,
We will be together, one love, one home.
We are two dearest hearts, one rhythm…
Bound beyond all time, to walk together.
And in your face I see the beauty within!
I am yours my dearest, now and forever.

Lover of the Evening Star

- Lover of the Evening Star -

Thou fair-haired angel of the noble evening,
How thy embrace did fill me with pleasure!
When I touched thy gown softly glistening,
With trembling hand: seeking love’s treasure.
Oh how the stars did pale to thy bright eyes,
Mine own lost in the depths of that abyss…
Oh how soft the roundness of thy pale thighs!
But softer still: those red lips that I did kiss.
And my fingers entwined in thy platinum curls,
As though thy hair were woven of moonlight…
Thee and I making love, just two lost girls!
My feminine heart lost in thy queenly delight.

Of evening star, the twin of morning’s glory…
Thou who saw the end of ages come to pass,
I was humbled when thou came to love me!
My will surrendered beyond will’s compass.
If there be peril in loving a goddess this way,
Then I cared not, in the hour of shared lust…
For thou did hunger for me, as night for day!
And my wanton mouth felt that love’s thrust.
A god and a goddess, I so knew thee to be,
But I too, am both man and woman in fact…
This made our love sweeter, as a symphony.
And fair is my memory, of our lovers’ pact.

Beauty claimed, and the evening so tamed,
But I was the one who was ravished more…
Willing in that wanton tryst: and unashamed.
For that bright goddess, I played the whore!
I cannot repent, for there is no sin in passion,
Betwixt lovers, of a kind kindred and lovely!
Regal was our attire, in darkly silken fashion,
Made moist with sweat and kisses comely…
There are raptures, for which all words fail,
And one evening’s pleasure can live forever!
So to the angel of the evening, in song I hail,
I long to once again meet such a skillful lover.
