Goodnight NYC and it's rowdy tenants
Goodnight to the single mother on fifth
wishing everyone would mind they business
Goodnight NYC
Goodnight NYC and to its' cops and robbers
Goodnight to the homeless people searching
for places to sleep in the stadium built for
the Brooklyn Dodgers. Goodnight NYC
Goodnight NYC shouting all the way to Queens
Goodnight to the rastas and hot mamas trying to be
more than just the average dope fiend

Is for all the scum who are waiting on the devil's hit list
So here goes my little note to bad friends and dumb exes
And no I wasn't gonna send this through text message
I'm dropping off my problems. Yeah the ones you left laying
at the front door. Returning them to sender because your
old shit doesn't phase me anymore. Yeah the lying, the cheating,
bad dreams of you when I'm sleeping don't need it anymore
Remember all those bum ass presents for the hard times

Listen, what I'm about to say isn't all that nice
Not really the type of girl made of sugar and spice
But here I am again to shed some light
On why my heart hasn't been feeling alright
Fourteen, no love and no brains on me
Looking for that good guy who doesn't call me homie
But actually wants to hold me, console me and get to know me
Put me on a pedestal to let the world know what's good see
Sixteen, still the same girl looking for that nice guy
Wondering if I should change my style then ask myself why?

Expecting To Be Special
Am I good enough to be the one tonight?
I didn't comb my hair and sparkle my dress for nothing, right?
Wasn't I good enough to walk behind you?
Standing in the back row where those lights don't blind you
Was I good when we had our first night?
I made myself look pretty just to be deflowered before twilight
Can I be that one again? Is it okay to cross the line where
I want more than a friend?
See being special to someone is normal
But I'm looking to you for comfort and the non-formals
We've been through so much

From the place where it was all said and done
So tell me more about why you're here.....
Tell me more about what happened last year
About your ups and downs, the turn arounds
When you didn't have nobody else near
I heard about the things you lost

Had your head up high and plenty tears to dry

To the lonely mothers feeling kicks in the womb
Did you believe that you would be a parent so soon?
Wondering why the father ran away
Praying he would change his mind one day
To the lonely mothers holding their newborns close
Look at your blessing and let them know
That they are loved and will never want
You will give them the world and then some

For giving me every butterfly kiss and hug
I wonder why I couldn't keep you without a fuss
Sometimes in my world I wish it was only us
He stood by me while your heart began to crack

Thinking about you and me is always easy
We have good mind fucks and hella good convesations
I don't need much from you and it's good that way
Still that's all it is and still fine
You go to work as do I, but lately I'm getting hella side eyes
Baby boy don't even think or try. What about wifey? She'll be surprised
I'm younger than her but no less pretty

Somewhere I Can Forget
A place with more than just my bad intentions
Some land without merit and honorable mention
It's where you go to be wanted and never deferred
The place where all the haunted can speak their words
It's sanctuary in the face of Notre Dame
I bet there was many a tear in the eyes when he sung this song
I understand that this place isn't for everyone
But if I take you with me it'll let both of us have some fun
Where the bones don't rattle and you can't feel cold
Journey with me to a place of new and of old
You can go there in your sleep...

I was a best friend even when I didn't like it.
Was the only good girl with a bad side you couldn't diss
My friends warned me of the unhappy ending

Now you're expecting me to give you some clarity
or help but sorry boo this is too sadity which is why I left

Sometimes He Is
Sometimes he is nice and sometimes he ain't
There are days when I roll the dice and choose
not to complain. Sometimes he is brave and other
days he won't budge. It's almost like watching a bull kick in mud
Sometimes he is needy and then again he gives
Sometimes he won't be either way and will share all
the love he has to give. Sometimes he is my everything
and then he belongs to himself.
Sometimes I like to believe that he believes in my type of wealth.
Sometimes he is what I deem him to be; such as a feeding person
with limited wings and...
