The Beginning of the End

Beware this place O traveller
when time ticks end
to life’s long weave
as tatters from wool skeins
that had become undone

silence screams in its solitude,
in this  God- forsaken place
indifferent, cobblestone firm and cold
its indeed a lonely place to die

feel the spirits of the dead converge
as they overshadow meek visitors
and death’s cold bony fingers
plucking at inimical sleeves

yet walk you will though weary
on this streets with gangrenous
light, shining like blind cataracts
on green dead lights that still pulses

this place, is the beginning of the end
it is where the stars in the sky
will not deign to twinkle, nor shine
dawn will never come

beware this place sojourner
where mists and shadows
they mate in glee together
bring your torch to light the way

Away.

A lost kingdom
Down by the back of forgotten alleys,
Where only the lost may wander.
Behind boarded up red brick ruins
With graffiti walls and grassy driveways.
There's a canal,derelict and decaying,
It's water septic;toxic malevolence.
Armadas of ancient plastic bottles
Caught in stagnant slime green purgatory,
Until the end of eternity.
Black putrid moss is climbing up,
Crumbling cement walls.
Trying to escape it's wretched prison.
There noise somewhere;i turn to see,
A crow perched upon the lock.
It's claws sending flakes of mouldy paint,
To lie upon foulness down below.
It scans its vile horizon and croaks into the dreary sky then flies into the air.
Landing in my way; strutting around like emperor of decay;
Warning me with eyes as black as the most twisted soul,
(giving my legs a sudden urge to run),that this is no place for strangers.
With a flap of his wings he returns back to his throne.
I step over discarded syringes and burnt tinfoil
and leave this squalid place.
Where even the demons have abandoned all cause for hope.

I wish to showcase my new work in this comp. THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY. But I think it will fit in

DESECRATION OF LIGHT

Shadows run in my blood
Like slow running molasses
Binding me to the realms
Where nightmares grow
In the pale moonlight

A man cloaked in darkness
Walks through forbidden passes
Where sunlight fears to tread
I am home here
A lord of shadows

A wraith of pure hate
Desecrate! Desecrate!
A fate that’s too late
Desecrate! Desecrate!

Desecration of the light

Virgins laid to pastor
On those secret dark grasses
Secrets give violence
If ever told
In a whispered threat

I am the one constant
In which confessions lasted
Until the end of times
Where I will laugh
And then sell you out

A wraith of pure hate
Desecrate! Desecrate!
A fate that’s too late
Desecrate! Desecrate!

Desecration of the light

Jesus wept
With pouring tears
About his doubt
Of divine intervention
And I laugh
With pouring tears
At his death
No divine intervention

Rise to eclipse the sun
With necromantic casting
The creatures of the night
Blood in the air
Is sweet with despair

Darkness before first light
Is the strongest at passing
Let the sleeping beast lie
Value your life
Tomorrow brings death

A wraith of pure hate
Desecrate! Desecrate!
A fate that’s too late
Desecrate! Desecrate!

Desecration of the light

Godless World

Darkness overwhelmingly glooming over the vast space
Even as the deepest cuts began to fade
And these solemn hours make life a game
Even the building scream they're insane
No rainbows and butterflies to muffle out your cries
We've been sinning to win
And death is our prize

Where's our light to cast away
This rotting flesh and ongoing decay
We all have our demons and say it's ok
But no one knows if we'll make it to the next day
The minutes blink with every death
No one mourns for there is nothing left

Our races has fallen to the mercy
Banging on Hell's gate
All of our lost souls and the Devil can't wait
Not one of us was ever a saint

We tare our skin and name our sons after Hero's
Writing our false accusations of hope
The man hangs on his cross
They made Jesus sound like a joke

Soft spoken and well enough words
We don't need night for our demons anymore
They can just walk up and knock on our door
Knowing we'll let them in
Whole heartedly and all grins

Nothing Remains

The empty alleys echo with silence
louder still than any screams
once peace reigned here, perfection in it's finest hour
now gone, wasted away by greed

The cries of the forlorn are lost
deafened by the song of dying sirens
the lives of those who fought
were demolished in vain, in bittersweet pain
and now nothing remains,
nothing save the bones of the unwanted

Beneath ghostly feet calls out the blood of the innocent
begging for justice, but revenge never comes
this is the fate of the world we are building
destroying destiny with every wrong move

emptiness, hollow and unyielding
nothing can stop it now from devouring hope
until naught but shadows linger here
except the whispers of sorrow
the long-dead roses and cheap wine
begging for release of relentless pain
nothing remains

Thanksgiving

This ain't a dream, This ain't Halloween
This is the place, where God can't intervene
Ain't no angels here, Ain't no angels near
This is the place, where people disappear

Ain't no fat man riding red-nosed reindeers
There are no candy canes or gummy bears
This is ain't the place you want to sojourn
The residents here are heating up a slow burn

Barbecue and fricassee is on the menu today
Singed flesh, fresh from afar, coming this way
Hunger pangs unleash their fangs at every door
Thanksgiving like you never witnessed before

This ain't a dream, This ain't Halloween
This is the place, where God can't intervene
Ain't no angels here, Ain't no angels near
This is the place, where people disappear

Bad mood helped a lot, thanks.

of the Shadow of Death

daylight, white light, dark light
is the last light you will see tonight

as

no one can count the boundless of your mercies
nor forgive you for the macabre of your sins
but it is they who can nail you to their cross
and cleanse away nothing that makes you
evil, vindictive, famine and divine
for you are their kind creature of deaths light;

at your feet serpents will weep and demons will speak
upon this unholy place in sacrilegious tongues
laced in maggots and waste having fallen from mortal grace;
chilled in a blackened blood, eternally hazed by a bloodless moon,
soon your soul will become one in this beautiful permanent landscape;
caw will the crows caw, bow to the marquee deadman who hangs still
for only the last breath of your factual mortality will bring to life
he who walks through this valley of the shadow of death.

streets of decay.

i walk these streets
death surrounds
all living souls have vanished
condemned streets of decay

crows and ravens set aside another
looking on
the day begins to fade to black
a fitting sight

maggot riddled animals lay on the curbs
as a man hangs above
a mob of war
has torn it apart
instilling the fear of war

nevermore is this an innocent village
but a grave for the forgotten

my heart has grown so dark
as they have grown so jaded
and released there furry upon this place
now in desolation
and has descended into a corpse for what was
and will never again be again

i manage to sleep easy
and just set and enjoy my cigarette
i did not inflict this
my jaded eye just watches
careless to all i see.

It happened on Fleet Street

We looked over the cobblestones as mud and filth caked the passage
told "keep the family safe, stay inside for society is burning".
Here all promise of glory we had been given, was nothing but a shell, full of empty drab buildings, we too have become dilapidated...terse with scoundrel's in the mist,
all who were once good, now hung out to dry.
Just, dangled meat for which way the crow flies.
A town council had been called hoping to patch things up,
yet the few who showed were elderly and forgot those who mattered, simply pitiful hoping to win some prize of adoration.
One could almost see a break in the clouds off in deeper distance if only a few would pay attention.
But we sipped Kool-Aid like adherent society earning moniker John Q public.
The only road here led to hell...
paint the church black upon Mt. Sinai for the fragments contained therein are held tight under lock and key.

We have lost any entrance to that sacred place

Fully steeped within belief of the fenced off abode,
kismet with knowledge that befits this spectacle, the days are marked grey in this shanty town.
The only flag flying is pestilence...
Nestle in closely to your side and sleep...
"the barricade isn't crumbling, so we are all here to stay"
