Vanity
Power to the people who see through the lie
Some of us know that it’s merely a parlor trick
Taxes fuel frustration choking out the little guy
Resulting in more money for that wealthy prick
It seems the rest of the population remain lost
Making choices difficult while feeding insanity
Looking in the mirror reveals what choices cost
Realizing we live in a world that caters to vanity

Queen for a day, fool for a lifetime
Pat yourself on the back
give yourself a hug
your ability to bore me is impressive
do you practice in front of your mirror?
you must have thick skin
the layers must have accumulated a horrific odor of skunk
what happens when there's no one left to put to sleep?
your obnoxious tendencies irritate me and all the others
you succeeded in being, "That obnoxious girl" no one likes
Here's a suggestion...
stop trying to one up or outdo whatever I or others have to say
it's not an attractive trait
if you can't be respectable...
give yourself a hug

the shallow end
I pulled away you felt it you're right
I have a confession I was secure once in my looks
I don't feel beautiful anymore
sure I have a magnetism
and for some odd reason, young men are drawn
but these days....at this age it's a mystery to me
one day I turned from the mirror then looked back
and my face had changed
it provided me security my looks
it was something that I counted on
I've paid for being vain
it's my personality that draws men now
in person or otherwise
it's a curse in a way
I don't...

one is old,
wrinkled, and
sagging."
Dear Santa, bring me a Birthday Suit -
The one I've got no longer looks cute
Within the opposite sex's view -
So my body looks as good as new.
The mirror's depressing evidence
Is getting too much for confidence;
Gravity seems pulling my flesh down -
Not the body I was proud to own.

Steak? She'd rather eat the box her toe-FOO come in

Whenever I was in a restaurant with Anastasia Brielle
I'd order things like bacon cheeseburgers
even when I had been eyeing the vegetarian chili.

my soul weeps because you will never really know me
you won't come in close enough to love me in my sacredness
you make assumptions and put a scarlet letter on me
because no matter what your soul says
you come close enough just to spy on my pain
pick me up off the ground as you're running by

like it or not I've been watching you
if you think I don't fit with the mainstream you're right
you do because you put business man outfit and personality

The Narcissist's Lover
The world
is a snack
in a narcissist's dream,
for nothing
is ever as sweet
as it seems.
No matter
how much
is given their cause,
It always ends up
just crushed
in their paws.
Drowning
in syrup
then burning in fire,
the object
of lust
and wanton desire,
first all the acting,
all beauty
and lace,
then heartlessly cruel
with love
not a trace.
The world
