At the inauguration of Joe Biden
It was a grey affair and the new president’s speech.
In an attempt to sound lyrical, other ways dull.
The capitol looked like a military camp the fear of Trump lingered.
A young girl read a poem it was sweet and pressed
The right buttons and it also helped she was black, which
Is the colour of our time.
The only time anyone read poems is on occasions like this.
I wish the young girl well; she has had exposure and will
After this, publish a book and be remembered as a great poet.

So serene
So prepossessing
Petals shaped like serum
Scattered so neatly, like a perfectly made bed
Cushioning the landscape with their treacherous tranquility

Laced in lingerings of lavender
Afield from nirvana, but safe and sound from the gates of hell

The end
So it is all over
ashes to ashes
dying is expensive
not paid for by

Death is a great leveller.

wars we like
wars we like
Do we like wars as long as it is at our doorstep
the Russians fought in Afghanistan and lost hands down
the USA took over this unwinnable war so far it has lasted
Twelve years with no end in sight.
The USA lost the Vietnam war, but Hollywood came
to the rescue made movies of brave soldiers whose every
bullets hit a target, yet they fled from the rooftop in Hanoi
it was a sickening sight.
In the meantime, the French are fighting a war against the rebellious
in central Africa to defend and give the presidency
to those...

old sisters to carry souls

what answers beauty from within
what calls to the deep like trumpets
who is the essence of them
transporters of spirit to beyond

I woke up in a dream where laughter was the only sound
People smiling and embracing was what I’ve found
Shooting stars raced across the sky; yet my feet were glued to the ground
The unusualness of this scene could astound…
…anyone, including me; I didn’t expect to find a miracle
A man smiled at me; I found it comforting instead of sensual

on another world, in another time
where you are with me in my mind
and we are joined, there's a flow
in between us, we both know
what we feel and what we think
sensuality a link
you know I know you know too
there's nothing that we cannot do
in dreamy meadows with sparkling streams
warm visions in reflected beams
of sunlight's shining luminescent
magnetic interacting ascent
I am pulled and you are drawn
from who we thought we were we're torn
like autumn leaves becoming free
in the embrace of gravity ...

Before Prometheus bequeathed
The gift of fire on all mankind
And Zeus’s eagle came to feast
Upon our champion, confined—
The gods of old would torment us
Until the spark of science, gained;
The crime of old Prometheus?
All mankind’s future he ordained!
He brought us science, to command
Our own utopia, to build
Then, he was pardoned by a man
And Zeus’s will went unfulfilled!
Olympus glares in helpless...
