Rotting Fruit
I couldn't give a hoot
for democratic fruit
but when the govercunt
you voted for
dons new designer suits
It's like they've grabbed you
by the balls
to promise ripe bananas
when there's almost none at all
thanks to Mr Charmer
They swiped the winter fuel
set cold hardship on the table
while in white warm corridors
fat quangos much on mangoes
as they contemplate their navels
They talked up cleaner greener
when what they meant
was leaner meaner
They've reneged on foreign aid
to build a...

Two Worlds
My shopping list:
organic carrots
purple sprouting broccoli
sweet potatoes
salmon fillets
manuka honey
chocolate eclairs
Her shopping list:
two handfuls of rice
& water
from the well.

Lear and Carroll all you like
what will it be like for the last living creatures
on earth in the final moments before the universe
contracts back to nothing; and what will they be,
human cockroach flea, or possibly rat (could it
get any worse!) but I hope they might possibly be an
owl and a pussycat, and no doubt all at sea

Train Window People
If you miss the last train
on the darkest night,
please miss it running
No empty seats for me
‘cos even empty seats need company.
It’s not just rain which falls down windows.
It’s an Astronaut, not an Angel
Prayed at midnight on the park bench
hoping my eyes would open to
your vision in the sky
The moon hung heavy
as cataracts in a blind man.
Was it Jesus, dressed as a junkie,
who stole my sight?
Bicycle Ride to Cemetery Gates
Laid my heart upon so...

Death of the Typewriter
Some would call it the final frontier
apache alliteration of love, lust and linger
scalp as many words from the sky
before the clouds dull their intelligence.
Word bore
whore to their loneliness,
pray tell, deliverance,
prostitute to the alphabet.
Write a song for the lovers
and your cursor will flicker and die.
Rent free on the internet
please please please read me.
Have they ever seen you naked?

Diaries of the Thought Police #101
At 2:43 this morning, Clare Thomas, 53, of Aberdeen, briefly considered setting her cheating, unemployed husband Fraser on fire as he slept, but gave up her plan when she realized she was out of lighter fuel and there were no stores open. Her thoughts then shifted to a navy blouse she had seen on sale earlier in the day at Primark.

A Bristol branch of the Natwest Bank was robbed twice yesterday in the mind of David Bell, 33. He was disturbed by his wife, who entered the kitchen to make a cup of tea. She asked him why he was wearing a pair of her tights over his...

This girl's a crusher!
Couch-cushion clutch,
X-billboard buster. 😎
Trill-to-the-touch,
tight tushy gusher.
Bum so flush, 🍑🤯
I hadta bum-rush her.
Philly likes to bleat;👄🎠
hella hadta hush her.
High-heeled heat,💗👠
fibrillatin' flustered!
Jillin' her to sleep, 🥵🐑
up the hill, I tossed her.
Heart skippin' beats,🩺
thought I almost lost her!
Drip, drip, drip, 🔩 ...

another disappointing poem
everyone thinks the future is
going to be worse than the present
is just more bloody socks
going to be worse than the present
is just more bloody socks

I’ll always hold onto it
show me what’s in your hand
it’s just a fact
it doesn’t matter which alternative you use
you’ll never get it

The Nearly Poems
I hear poems that pass in the night
tight unfinished lines with agonised rhymes
brave couplets that struggle and fight
hugging horizons over oceans of words
while loose titles slip out of sight
Ideas rear up from the subconscious mind
to fall lost overboard by dawn
The almost remembered great stories untold
perched high on life's clifftop crumble of stones
inscriptions faded and worn
So near yet so far I hear them retreat
from their dream to be free of thought's cage
vainglorious lines ever read and re-read

wreck
sky grey as a battleship,
wind as though fired from cannons
I take a turn around the deck
of modern life,
being careful not to slip,
although I did, as it happens,
he said to his wife,
nearly broke my neck ..
