Blind
The goddess Poetry
whispered in my ear
told me I should versify
everything I hear
She said time was running out
with Earth's candle's burning low
and if we didn't change our ways
a fuse was bound to blow
So I wandered
through the mountains
In the valleys wars were raging
watched innocence lie drowning
in seas of greed and hatred
Beyond the Devil and the damned
destruction bleeds man's fate
We have to turn our world around
before it gets too late
We could stop it with two words ...

Teddy Bear Blues
You're a very dusty Teddy
forgotten and forlorn
forsaken by your owner
It's time that you were gone
So I drove you to the thrift store
to find you a new home
but they refused to take you
'cause your label is all wrong
Fire retardant Teddies
they snap up by the load
though without the right credentials
no store wants to know
Somewhere in bear heaven
there's a place old Teddies rest
but for now I'll take you home again
with the feeling that it's best
forgotten and forlorn
forsaken by your owner
It's time that you were gone
So I drove you to the thrift store
to find you a new home
but they refused to take you
'cause your label is all wrong
Fire retardant Teddies
they snap up by the load

with the feeling that it's best

The Meek Are Ready.
She plugged her ears and moved swiftly through the trees.
She thought of the sounds that crickets make
anything to drown out the screams.
Fear began whispering inside of her head.
She wanted to go back but she knew even if
they're alive now in a few moments they'd all
be dead.
Booms, bangs, cries, and shrieks they
should've ran with her instead they called her
a Jesus freak.

Riding The Wave Until It Crashes
Pieces of me.
Pieces of he,
evaporating.
We are not the same, things have changed.
All about me
never about he.
Unblinking, unthinking, rapidly sinking.
Falling into a sea of me
leaving he, far behind.
Pieces of he,
evaporating.
We are not the same, things have changed.
All about me
never about he.
Unblinking, unthinking, rapidly sinking.
Falling into a sea of me
leaving he, far behind.

The Devil's Rules
Something's breathing
heavy on my shoulder
I sense the darkness closing in
maybe the Devil's
got some business here
in a race that I can't win
On the moors
the clouds are rolling
turning sunlight into stone
wind is stilled to awe the moment
the wildest horses head for home
Life was learning to tie laces
when none of us
is born with shoes
They only tell you
best be careful
better follow all their rules
Should I have listened to the preacher
to confess my sins and then atone
when...

The Good Ship Poetry
In the shadows of stark AI
poetry's little girl lost
squirms and rubs her eyes
Marooned on a tear swept island
in an ocean of online therapy
where scribblers scrawl their fears
the masses pick their asses
and dare to brand it poetry
Disillusioned and all cried out
she knows the menace is real
for at times she can no longer look
and ever since the internet
almost no-one reads a book
the tsunami of poor me's
slowly swallowing
the bountiful beauty of words
Which literary genius decreed ...

Impossible Love
we fool ourselves
with romance novels
and fairy tales.
love,
desire to unite with love object,
to become one with it in mind, body, and spirit.
impossible ambition,
love.
never can you be certain,
of what another is
thinking or feeling.

impossible ambition, love.
never can you be
100 percent certain,
if words spoken, or facial expression
bear similarity to thoughts
in their head or emotions

Holding the Moment
My desert heart pumped
hotter than a whore's corsets
on Saturday night
gliding home
like a butter knife deprived
Act your age
she squealed
We only live once
I sighed
knowing once
would be more than enough
before the three day
hangover arrived
But the trick
of holding the moment
learned once
is never lost
Then flush of red
turning white
the orchestra
cream cat silent now
while the moon
teases shadow
into memory
chasing...

Into the Murk
You will have me
down as loathful
who's details are
still impending
but I wasn't
keen on arriving,
nor a loaded
shotgun sitting
idle, a ceiling
dripping in
star-clout
executed by
one shot done
in less than
a second,
I bury my spine
deep in my sofa
tutting through
vape smoke
thinking
no Franklin;
who sits there
idle, waiting
for splatter
captured in
a moment,
I am murk
inside a grey ...

Tiny
and in broad daylight
your fledgling spirit appears
Pale wraith
too sickly to rattle a window
or raise a murmur to beg
your breathless envy
can only press
an unformed face
a fraction closer to mine
Beyond the lull of the Gardens
footsteps cloud a clear blue sky
duty trudges through shadow
to rest by the Round Pond
I am mindful of the water's edge
as a little girl laughs
throwing bread to a black swan

Steaming
I'm angry
angry because
one day we all have to die
watching our bodies crumble
and our minds slide to mush
the human destiny of decay and dust
I'm angry
angry because
I'm spitting blood
and I can't fix an appointment
with my dentist
I'm angry at the birds
singing in the pre-dawn light
waking me early
to exacerbate my throbbing jaw
Angry at the sodden lawn
by my bedroom window
that's too wet to mow
Angry at the slugs
feasting on this year's
puny daffodil blooms
Angry at the squirrels ...

one day we all have to die
watching our bodies crumble

the human destiny of decay and dust

Time's Up
In a blind rage of all or nothing
the ghost of our God stole in
to stare at the fools in the mirror
and ask them what they'd seen
Our finest years grew heartless
as we became dead to His call
sorry lives controlled by greed
such sad existence with no heart at all
So what message would He offer
to our soulless desert of pain
where twilight covers the sun
through clouds of acid rain
If I was God I'd tell the truth
knowing humans cannot change
Our design was always flawed
and Earth must start again
the ghost of our God stole in
to stare at the fools in the mirror
and ask them what they'd seen
Our finest years grew heartless
as we became dead to His call
sorry lives controlled by greed
such sad existence with no heart at all
So what message would He offer
to our soulless desert of pain
where twilight covers the sun
through clouds of acid rain
